While critical federal services are being cut and millions of Americans are about to see a shutdown of their health care, Trump is “uninterested” in “deploying” his “dealmaking background.” Whatever happened to ‘I alone can fix it’ and ‘The Art of the Deal’? #GOPShutdown
🚨Today's the day! 🚨 It's the LAST day to register to vote or update your registration in PA before the upcoming election. Visit vote.phila.gov to make sure you’re registered to vote and that it’s up to date, then help make sure your friends’ and family’s are too!
⏰Hey Philly: The deadline to register to vote is 3 days away! Your vote is your vote in this upcoming election- especially in PA where three state Supreme Court justices are on the ballot.
Your Vote is Your Voice. Make sure your voter registration is up to date by October 20. Apply to vote-by-mail by October 28. Election Day is November 4.
During this #GOPShutdown, our dedicated air-traffic controllers are understaffed and working unpaid- but this what the Trump administration is prioritizing. If the House were in session rather than on day 31 of the GOP’s vacation, we could be doing oversight of the executive branch.
Screenshot from NYT article with the text: Documents that were posted to a public government procurement website and reviewed by The Times show that the department has since signed a contract with Gulfstream to buy not one but two “used” G700 jets, touted by the company as having the “most spacious cabin in the industry.” The total contract value is listed as a little over $172 million.

It was not immediately clear where the funding for the jets came from.

When they thought the IRS was being weaponized against conservatives, congressional Republicans went on the record against it. But now, after credible reporting of Trump using the IRS to target his critics and dissenters- most Republicans in Congress are silent.
Today, I joined Ranking Member Neal and my Ways and Means Democratic colleagues in demanding an investigation into this latest abuse from the Trump administration.
If Congress does not investigate these latest reports, we let Trump’s abuse of power become the norm. Ways and Means Democrats refuse to let that happen. Catch up on the latest here: democrats-waysandmeans.house.gov/media-center...
Time is running out! There are only 15 days until Pennie Open Enrollment begins. And if Republicans don’t act and extend ACA tax credits NOW, many Pennsylvanians will see a shutdown of their health care- as they see their premiums skyrocket or get priced out of coverage altogether.
Man, this freaking guy. "I have no staff ... The phones don't work. There's no computer," Grijalva says from her sparsely furnished office on Capitol Hill. "We don't have a government email." www.npr.org/2025/10/16/g...
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)
Why wait? What else does the speaker have to do right now? The House isn't voting, as he’s keeping House Republicans on a 27-day paid vacation. And he’s not swearing in Rep.-elect Grijalva because he apparently wants to duck a vote on releasing the Epstein files.
Premiums aren’t going up by “a little bit,” Leader Thune- they are going to skyrocket thanks to Republican inaction!
Map of every county in Pennsylvania with the net premium percent change for Pennie 2026 Open Enrollment- without federal action to extend the ACA tax credits. Philadelphia county is highlighted where rates will raise an estimated 116%
THUNE: These premiums are going up a little bit b/c of the expiration of the enhanced tax credits VITALI: I think people hearing their premiums are doubling don't feel that it's a little bit T: I'm just saying only a small part of that is attributable to the expiration of the enhanced tax credits
