Social Security is under attack. You worked hard. You paid in with every paycheck. You earned your Social Security. Now, Trump and the far-right want to gut federal services, delaying your benefits—all to bankroll massive tax cuts for their billionaire donors. We won’t let them get away with it.
Slashing hundreds of NOAA jobs isn’t just reckless—it’s a catastrophe waiting to happen. When the next storm barrels toward us, who will sound the alarm? Who will help keep our families safe? This is a disaster we can’t afford.
Florida has been battered by hurricanes and tornadoes year after year, and we’ve seen firsthand how the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration saves lives—tracking storms, issuing life-or-death forecasts, and helping communities prepare before disaster strikes.
Black history is American history. As we mark the close of #BlackHistoryMonth, let’s continue honoring the Black leaders and changemakers who have built, led, and shaped the fabric of our nation—while reaffirming our commitment to justice and equality.
The Inter-American Foundation is one of our most nimble and effective foreign policy tools, working in Latin American and the Caribbean to support economic growth and democracy. I'm proud to join my colleagues in defense of IAF against reckless attempts to eliminate it.
The Trump Administration's decision to terminate 90% of USAID programs will not enhance our safety, security, or prosperity. This reckless sledgehammer approach undermines our global leadership and humanitarian commitments. My full statement ⬇️
As antisemitism rises around the world, our commitment to fighting against this hate is stronger than ever. It was great to catch up with fellow Floridian and former colleague Ted Deutch, to discuss how the American Jewish Committee is leading efforts to fight back.
Public education is a cornerstone of our democracy, giving children of all backgrounds the tools to succeed. At today’s Appropriations hearing, I spoke out against efforts to eliminate the Dept. of Ed, which would undermine students' opportunities and undo decades of progress.
The Trump Administration continues to gut USAID-2,000 dedicated professionals laid off, most remaining staff put on leave. This reckless move all but eliminates U.S. humanitarian aid and global leadership. This doesn't make us safer, stronger, or more prosperous. #SaveUSAID
Trump’s Homeland Security Secretary just rescinded the Temporary Protective Status (TPS) extension for Haiti, putting 500,000 Haitians in the U.S. at risk of being sent back to conflict and crisis. It’s cruel, destabilizing, and dangerous. And no—it doesn’t lower costs for the American people.
The Trump Admin’s foreign aid freeze is blocking international family planning programs—putting millions of women and girls at risk. Health Experts predict: ❌ 4.2M unintended pregnancies ❌ 8,000+ maternal deaths in 2025 alone This isn’t how we build a safer, stronger world. 🧵 (1/2)
The Trump Admin announced a massive cut in funding that helps Americans find health care through the Affordable Care Act—surely the first step in Republicans' latest effort to gut the ACA.
The Trump Administration’s reckless cuts to public servants left over 1,000 Veterans out of work last night. Among those terminated were disabled Veterans, military spouses, and medical researchers who have devoted their lives to public service. Not the way to honor their sacrifice.
🚨BREAKING: VA slashes 1000 jobs of disabled veterans, military spouses & medical researchers in massive cuts. $98M in claimed "savings" = longer wait times & reduced care for veterans. This isn't reform - it's a reckless abandonment of those who served.
