Trump's withholding of @usedgov.bsky.social funds, including $8.1 million for Wake County, is disrupting hiring and reduces the capacity for educators to provide a quality education for students.
Today, @ross.house.gov and I wrote to the Secretary of Education urging the release of these funds.
The Congressional Budget Office confirms that the Big, Ugly Bill:
❌Strips healthcare from 10 million Americans.
❌Cuts food assistance for children and seniors.
❌Adds $3.4 trillion to the national debt.
It's shameful that the GOP continues to tout cuts that put billionaires over everyday Americans.
Trump's aid plan for Gaza doesn't work. Starving civilians are being met with gunfire at aid sites—it's inhumane and unacceptable.
I continue to call for a ceasefire to ensure the flow of aid to the region and safe return of the remaining hostages.

The #MA7 is leading the way in space exploration, astrophysics, & AI research.
Last week, @foushee.house.gov & I toured Cambridge Discovery Park, where the Center for Astrophysics is pushing the frontiers of knowledge in astronomy & astrophysics & bringing unparalleled innovation to Massachusetts.
I led a bipartisan letter as Ranking Member of the Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee with @beyer.house.gov, @moulton.house.gov and 61 of our colleagues denouncing these efforts and their devastating consequences for NASA. (2/2)
Actions to set in motion Trump's proposed FY26 cuts to NASA Science before Congress votes on a full-year budget are illegal and threaten U.S. leadership in space and scientific research. (1/2)

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @repstansbury.bsky.social busts the myths behind Trump’s Big, Ugly law. The truth? It hikes your utility bills by $400 — just to hand out giveaways to billionaires and Big Oil CEOs.
I am proud to share that my office has now returned over $4 million to #NC04 residents through casework!
As always, if you’re experiencing issues with a federal agency, don’t hesitate to give my office a call at 919-967-7924.
Last night, Republicans passed Trump's rescissions package that makes devastating cuts to public aid and foreign assistance.
This bill hurts our communities here in NC and sets back efforts to fight deadly diseases worldwide. I proudly voted no, and will fight to restore this funding.
For over 2 years, I have been working to address these issues including a visit to the facility & letter which did not receive a response.
Now, I am going public with my efforts. The Bureau of Prisons must answer my questions & ensure the safety of staff & those incarcerated at the facility. (2/2)
The conditions at the FCC Butner prison complex are deplorable. Reports of sewage overflowing through floor vents, deteriorating food storage systems, and more cannot go unaddressed.
This week, I demanded updates on infrastructure and staffing improvements from the Bureau of Prisons Director. (1/2)
Firing scientists and disrupting air pollution research doesn't keep our communities safe, and I'm exploring all avenues to reverse this. (2/2)
My office is hearing reports that the lease for the Center for Public Health and Environmental Assessment, an EPA air pollution lab in Chapel Hill, was not renewed. (1/2)

I am proud to support the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social Better Future Policy Agenda—a plan to advance the economic security, health, and rights of women and girls across the nation.
These are real solutions that put women first, and we won’t back down.
NC is still waiting on DOT grant award funds for the S-Line passenger rail route, so I took the opportunity to ask Secretary Duffy about it at the @transportdems.bsky.social hearing.
He says that he’s working on it and understands the importance of this rail line—I'll be holding him to that.
As Ranking Member of the Space & Aeronautics Subcommittee, I will continue fighting to protect these essential investments to advance U.S. leadership in space science and discovery. (3/3)
Trump’s attacks on NASA Science and gutting research funding as a whole will leave this center without the necessary graduate student fellowships and internship support it needs to function. (2/3)
It was a pleasure visiting the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, home to the Chandra X-ray Observatory and the world’s most powerful X-ray telescope, with @pressley.house.gov to learn more about their cutting-edge research in AI, astronomy, and astrophysics. (1/3)

On today's Democratic Daily Download, Rep. Rashida Tlaib explains how Trump's Big Ugly Law betrays our communities: Ripping away health care and food for families all to give tax breaks to billionaires.
Every single House Republican bent the knee to Trump and voted against releasing the Epstein Files.
Redacting the victims' names and releasing the files would be easy. Either Trump lied to the American people or Republicans are engaging in a cover-up, you decide.
