BREAKING update - Dems fighting back against Trump’s dismantling of public education. More on today’s Democratic Daily Download ⬇️
Trump's EO to dismantle @usedgov.bsky.social undermines the foundation of public education in our country. I hosted a roundtable with local school district superintendents to discuss the long-term impacts on students, faculty, and schools if the department ceased to exist in its current form.

Did you know that the law regulating how the federal government collects and uses our personal data is 51 years old?
On today's Digital Download, I talked about how @housedemocrats.bsky.social are fighting back against Elon Musk accessing Americans' most sensitive personal data.
🚨 ICYMI: I am accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition!
This competition is open to #NC04 high school students, and the winner will have their art displayed in the U.S. Capitol. The submission deadline is April 11.

Our government spending needs to be more efficient, but Trump's reckless cuts are an attempt to flood the zone to create instability and destroy social services.
I joined @ncnewsline.com to discuss the GOP's cuts to Medicaid, USAID, Department of Education, the VA and more.

It was great visiting Randy’s Five Star Academy to discuss the importance of Head Start and childcare programs.
The Trump Administration is stripping funding from centers like these that provide support to local working families and a safe space for children to learn and grow. It's just heartless.
Sixty years ago, following Bloody Sunday, thousands of heroic civil rights activists began their march from Selma to Montgomery to fight for voting rights.
Their bravery led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and we honor their legacy by continuing to fight against voter suppression.

I stand with NASA employees, who are being villainized across the board by this Administration and facing threats of unjustified layoffs.
I'm proud to introduce the Saving NASA's Workforce Act with Ranking Member Lofgren to prevent these workforce reductions.

As a former school board member, I'm deeply concerned by the far-reaching implications of this order.
I fully support any legislation and challenges to this EO, and I will do everything in my power to challenge the GOP and hold this Administration accountable. (2/2)
The Department of Education supports 1.6 million students across North Carolina's K-12 schools.
This unconstitutional and heartless executive order won’t just affect our schools, it will also directly impact our children and their future. (1/2)

It was a pleasure meeting with Mayor Gilbert and officials with the Town of Apex to discuss important priorities for local residents.
Thank you for all the work you do for our community, and I look forward to strengthening our partnership in the weeks and months ahead.
📢 Applications are still open for my Summer 2025 internship program in my Durham and DC offices!
Interns gain hands-on experience with constituent services and the legislative process while developing research and writing skills. For more information, visit: foushee.house.gov/internships
It was great speaking to fellows with the National Humanities Center to discuss the state of our democracy and federal funding cuts.
Cuts proposed by this Administration create uncertainty for many Americans working in humanities, and I will continue to fight to counter these actions.
Nowruz Mubarak to everyone celebrating in #NC04 and around the world. May you celebrate the Persian New Year surrounded by friends and loved ones.
It was great meeting officials with Chatham County to discuss the issues that matter most to local residents.
As the former NC State Senator representing Chatham County, I know the potential this area holds, and I look forward to continuing this work together to uplift the local community.
NEXT WEEK 3/25: My office will be holding Mobile Office Hours at the Morrisville Aquatics & Fitness Center from 11AM – 1PM.
If you are experiencing issues with a federal agency, come by to speak with a member of my constituent services team – we are here to serve you!
I met with CORA Food Pantry to discuss their critical work in combatting food insecurity within our community.
In #NC04, over 68,000 people rely on SNAP to put food on the table, and the GOP’s proposed cuts to these benefits will place an undue burden on local organizations working to fill in gaps.

Every day, you will hear from @housedemocrats.bsky.social on how we’re fighting back against Trump and the GOP — as they rip off working families to give massive tax breaks to their billionaire donors.
