This isn’t about cutting corners — it’s about cutting delays that don’t make housing safer, just slower and more expensive.
My bill creates a narrow exemption from federal NEPA review for infill affordable housing developments that meet strict environmental and site criteria.
It’s a practical way to remove roadblocks while still protecting what matters.
Right now, even affordable housing that is smart infill in cities faces months or years of delay because of outdated federal red tape.
That means higher costs, stalled construction, and fewer homes when we need them most.
We need to get serious about making housing more affordable and getting it built faster.
That’s what my new bipartisan bill — the Cut Red Tape for Housing Act — is all about. 🧵
