As part of Trump’s agenda to prioritize tax breaks for billionaires over the safety of our communities, he fired thousands of Forest Service employees last night. These jobs not only contribute to our local economy – but they support essential wildfire prevention work.
Taxpayer dollars should be used to support public schools, not funneled to unaccountable for-profit & religious schools. Trump’s order to federally fund these schools flies in the face of church-state separation, and @raskin.house.gov, @schakowsky.house.gov, and I are demanding he withdraw it.

happy valentine's day! 💌💌
It was great to join cyclists, joggers, and community leaders for the grand opening of the McInnis SMART Pathway. I’m glad I could secure funding to help complete construction, and look forward to seeing folks out there!
Trump's freeze on wildfire mitigation efforts will have grave consequences on our communities. We'll be less safe, less prepared, and more vulnerable to the threats of wildfires – so Representative Scott Peters, Representative Joe Neguse, and I are demanding he restart this wildfire prevention work.
Republicans’ budget is out, and guess how they’re planning to pay for those massive tax breaks for their billionaire buddies: by slashing Medicaid funding, stripping health care from millions of Americans. This is downright inhumane, and I will keep fighting to stop them.
Extreme Republicans in Congress are targeting the heart and soul of America's public lands – delaying wildfire mitigation efforts, funding for tribal communities, and more.
I asked Colorado Department of Natural Resources Executive Director Gibbs about the local impact of these actions.
The state of kelp ecosystems has drastic impacts on our world, from the stability of coastal economies to the survival of marine species. But they are virtually being wiped out.
My bill with Senator Jeff Merkley will help save kelp forests before it’s too late.
There are many real crises right now – a betrayal of the American people, a truth crisis, a climate crisis – but we are NOT facing an energy crisis.
This isn’t a plan to help Americans – it’s a grift to pad the pockets of Big Oil.
Elon Musk’s latest stunt: closing down the only federal agency dedicated solely to protecting consumers in our economy.
The CFPB has rightfully returned over $21 billion to consumers – and now Musk is choosing to shut it down, benefitting big banks and predatory lenders over hardworking Americans.
Wildfires are ripping through our communities and only getting more severe.
Trump’s hiring freeze is literally going to cost lives. This is unacceptable.

Time nailed it.
Donald Trump has turned over the presidency to the unelected billionaire Elon Musk so he can steal from Americans.
And EVERY House Republican is OK with that.

The American people and their security are not for sale.

Ranking Members @rephuffman.bsky.social and @repdexteror.bsky.social called on Committee Republicans to investigate Trump’s illegal midnight purge of inspectors general across the federal government.
We won’t let them get away with it. democrats-naturalresources.house.gov/media/press-...

So… Trump fired 18 inspectors general.
NOW:
💰 If a contractor is scamming taxpayers? No IG.
🚨 If a political appointee breaks the law? No IG.
🤑 If Trump officials are lining their pockets? No IG.
No watchdogs. No accountability. And House Republicans are just letting it happen.
Speaker Johnson’s National Prayer Breakfast is yet another example of MAGA Republicans taking a sledgehammer to the wall between church and state. This morning I attended in protest ⬇️

I know there is a lot of anger and fear over Trump and Musk’s attacks on our federal government and essential programs—rightly so.
I want you to know you can count on me to fight back. Here’s an update on what I’m doing…
We knew this purging of equity would hit Indian Country and it has in harmful and dangerous ways.
Where are the Republicans that pretend to care about Indian Country?
Americans rely on this essential program for severe weather forecasts and emergency information, and I'm fighting back to make sure we keep it. This string of egregious, illegal power grabs cannot stand.
Musk and his DOGE hackers are ransacking their way through the federal government one agency at a time – and NOAA is their next target.
