The reconciliation process was meant for quick budget fixes. It is not the best way to fund the war in Iran and is not transparent for the American people.
It should not be used as a shortcut for funding an unconstitutional war.

1/ ICYMI: Last week I introduced the No WAR Act. The American people do not want this unpopular war and congressional Republicans should not be allowed to use a backdoor process to fund boots on the ground.

At least after 76 days, we funded DHS minus ICE and CBP and did what Democrats were asking for in the first place, something that Speaker Johnson said he wouldn’t do.

2/ If Congress is going to spend money to put American troops in harm’s way for another foreign war for oil, then the American people deserve more than a process engineered to avoid real debate.
1/ I just introduced the No WAR Act, which prevents Congress from fast tracking war funding through a backdoor budget process.
2/ We had an opportunity here to strengthen labor standards and lower costs for Americans and this bill missed the mark.
1/ Today I voted NO on the Farm Bill because it locks in SNAP cuts that have taken accessible and nutritious food away from over 42,000 Oregonians, does nothing to lower food costs and weakens worker safety protections across the whole supply chain.
2/ Justice Kagan said it best in her dissent: The Voting Rights Act has been repeatedly, and overwhelmingly, reauthorized by the people’s representatives in Congress. Only they have the right to say it is no longer needed—not the Members of this Court.
1/ Today's Supreme Court decision is an outrageous blow to our democracy and Congress needs to respond. That begins with passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and using all the tools we have to keep our elections free and fair.
When we’ve got students who are graduating with hundreds of thousands of $$$ in debt and fighting for jobs at $15 an hour, we need to do better. Registered apprenticeships are a proven path to good-paying jobs. Here’s why⬆️
