Funding of these agencies without reform and accountability is directly opposed to what our Founders promised. Kristi Noem must step down and all involved in this tragedy and implementation of the policy that allowed it should be investigated.
Every American has a right to free expression and is protected from excessive use of force by those sworn to protect and serve. The killing of a 37 year old ICU nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Minnesota is heartbreaking and another sign that we are far off course.
America's farmers are hurting—they need every bit of help Congress can deliver. Republican leadership had a chance to authorize year round E15—a commonsense blend of ethanol and gasoline—but they all walked away. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America. Time to shake a leg Mr. Speaker.

Letter Carriers keep our communities connected, reaching every corner of the country.📫
We enjoyed meeting with @lettercarriers.bsky.social President Brian Renfroe to discuss our commitment to continue delivering for letter carriers everywhere.
Today, VP Vance traveled to Toledo, Ohio to talk about the Trump Administration's efforts to grow jobs and return manufacturing to our region. Well, this came as quite a surprise to me, because of decisions by his Administration to rip away $150 Million of investment across NW Ohio.
We fought to extend the ACA credits so people wouldn't die. We were successful, and there is a bill that'll solve the problem for the country. It sits in the Senate—and guess what? They're sitting on it. For the American people listening, one thing you can do to dislodge this bill—call your Senator.
Earlier this week, alongside hundreds of Ohioans, our community celebrated the life and works a Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King with Macedonia Baptist Church in Toledo and its rousing choir. We also welcomed the NAACP's Reverend Dr. Wendell Anthony, who spoke eloquently of Dr. King's living legacy.
Markets plunged over 2% yesterday as President Trump escalated reckless talk about games Greenland. Billions erased from retirement savings, pensions, your hard earned dollars, stocks and savings take a hit while he toys with American credibility on the world stage. This is destabilizing our nation.
Highlighting transportation and infrastructure priorities for NW Ohio communities I represent along Lake Erie, from Defiance through Toledo to Sandusky and our surrounding rural counties. Transportation and infrastructure is not an abstract concept for our manufacturing and agricultural communities.
On #MartinLutherKingJrDay let us remember that while times might seem dark, we cannot lose sight of the dream. We must maintain hope, optimism, and a will to make a better world every day. While we may have difficulties ahead, only together will we make a difference for all those to come.
Great to join hundreds of people from across NW Ohio in Williams County for the annual Edgerton Fire Department all-you-can eat pancake breakfast. Thanks to the Edgerton Boy Scouts for helping to serve over 400 in attendance. Always love taking part in these beloved local NW Ohio traditions.
Great to visit Perkins High School and honor Kia Preston as 9th District Congressional App Challenge winner, and their Robotics Team who have partnered with NASA! Thanks to Computer Science teacher Mike Leffler and Robotics Team Advisor John Stout for lighting the way for these bright young minds.
Military threats on NATO allies and tariffs that raise prices on hard working Americans and NW Ohio manufacturers have to stop. We need a united front and new sanctions against Russia — not mob extortion tactics against our friends to seize their land!
The Trump proposal to roll out the red carpet for autos from Communist China is bad policy. As a daughter of the @UAW.org, I couldn’t think of a bigger slap in the face to the men and women who work day in and day out to build our region, and America forward.
For decades, the men and women who built Delphi were told that if they worked hard and kept their end of the deal, their retirement benefits would be there for them. That promise was broken through no fault of their own, when Delphi collapsed. The Susan Muffley Act would help correct that injustice.
Last year 68,000 manufacturing jobs were lost across our country as a direct result of President Trump's reckless tariffs and DOGE cuts. When manufacturing jobs disappear and costs rise, Ohio families suffer. Lost jobs and rising costs are not an abstract economic theory, they are a harsh reality.
Great to join our bipartisan Steel Caucus for a hearing with industry and labor leaders. The hardworking men and women who make the steel that undergirds our automotive, defense, and manufacturing industrial base are critical to American security and competitiveness.
Last week Putin continued his illegal war with a double tap attack on Kyiv. A double tap is when a target is struck, but then quickly struck again to kill survivors and first responders. We must do more to deter illegal Russian aggression—or more innocent Ukrainians will continue to be laid to rest.
