Congratulations to Luke and Harrison Spitnale, winners of OH-09’s Congressional App Challenge!
It’s inspiring to see young minds shape their future and influence generations to come. Thank you to all who participated — can’t wait to see next year’s creativity shine—in NW Ohio the future is bright!
The Trump Tariffs on products you buy are taxes that cost you more money on everything. More for food, gas, building materials, cars, trucks and nearly everything you buy. The American people need economic growth—not higher costs because of tariffs.
Working late at the Capitol to help the American people deal with the 10% arbitrary across the board tariffs still in place on all goods coming into our country. Tariffs are a tax on hardworking Americans and we are working to help you save more of your hard earned money.
Today I stand against the GOP's Billionaire Bonanza Budget. It cashes out precious health care dollars and enriches ultra wealthy Billionaires, leaving ordinary Americans to pick up the tab. It would add $14 Trillion more to our debt over the next decade—why? To fund more tax cuts for Billionaires.
Wordle Spoilers Ahead!
The Wordle got it right today—WHEAT! I always stand with Ohio’s farmers who grow the grains that feed our families and fuel our future. Supporting American producers isn’t red or blue—it’s red, white, and grain. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America!
House Republicans are muting the voice of worried Americans and giving away Congress’ authority over Trump’s tariffs that threaten to crash the economy.
With March Madness coming to a close last night, it is with joy that I celebrated two exceptional young local basketball stars from NW Ohio, Makhi Leach from Whitmer High School and Elise Bender from Anthony Wayne High School, who were named as the 2025 All-Blade Basketball Players of the Year.
Senate Republicans are standing up to what we’ve known all along—arbitrary tariffs aren’t calculated, they’re careless. Trade wars won’t help American workers—they’re hurting them. Ohio manufacturers and farmers deserve thoughtful trade policy, not chaos. It’s not time for trade war theater.
Last week we honored NATO’s founding—76 years of unity for global peace and security. Alongside the Atlantic Council, I convened 29 Embassies, 22 Ambassadors, 2 Defense Ministers, and 12 bipartisan Members of Congress to reaffirm our shared commitment and unified support for the cause of Liberty.
Tariffs of this magnitude equate to new taxes on everything the American people buy. The Dow and S&P continued their historic nosedive today. Congress needs to act fast to rein in this chaos before retirement savings evaporate, businesses lose capital, and unemployment skyrockets.
On #WorldHealthDay we uplift the importance of providing health care to our communities. While some are considering cutting resources, I will fight to protect these programs and work to expand access to care at community health centers in NW Ohio, throughout our Buckeye State, and across our nation.
Health should never be sacrificed for politics. Reckless health care layoffs endanger working families across NW Ohio, especially in our rural communities. Gutting these agencies means fewer protections against deadly diseases, unsafe food and RX drugs, and lost progress on critical research.
Arbitrary tariffs are a tax on working class Americans, and they are tanking what was the best performing economy in the world only 2 months ago. We should be working to lower prices, not making them skyrocket, while Americans’ retirement accounts nosedive.
Scenes from today's peaceful #HandsOff walk in Sandusky, Ohio—one of many events across NW Ohio and 1,000+ today nationwide as Americans give voice to their worry about the economy, Social Security, Medicaid, education and America’s standing in the world.
Proud to have her as a strong member of our Ukraine Caucus.
Honored to join the brave men and women of the 180th Fighter Wing and present a flag flown over our US Capitol, at their Change of Command Ceremony. I know they will continue to keep watch over our northern border and keep our homeland and region safe whenever duty calls.
Thank you to the Toledo Regional Alliance for bringing advocacy to Washington this week. Your dedication and insight made for fruitful and productive discussions. Together, we will bring positive change and opportunity to our NW Ohio and Toledo communities.

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.
Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.
Arbitrary tariffs are a tax on hardworking Americans — they are tanking our economy — and your retirement savings.
When Speaker Johnson shut the floor early Tuesday, Republicans bolted town. Some of us stayed in DC to continue working for the people. I met with constituents from NW Ohio who sent me here, and worked with colleagues to fight disastrous tariffs that are raising your prices and crashing US markets.
