Congratulations to Toledo native Jamiya Neal and Creighton on their first round win in March Madness. Jamiya had 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists to power Creighton to a decisive victory over Louisville. All of NW Ohio is cheering you on and can't wait to see what you do next.
While millions of Americans are focused on student-athletes competing in March Madness for the right to “cut down net,” the Trump Administration is cutting the lifeline for many by working to abolish the Department of Education and cut assistance for students in communities across America.
Happy First Day of Spring! The beauty of the season across our Freshwater Kingdom is about to burst to life — flowers will bloom, trees will bud, and the landscape will come alive with color. This is a time of renewal and growth. I can't wait to see the vibrant beauty across our NW Ohio communities!

It’s morally reprehensible that Putin has stolen tens of thousands of children from Ukraine.
I’m leading a bipartisan letter to Secretary Rubio and Secretary Bessent to prioritize getting these children back and holding the people and organizations accountable for these kidnappings. (1/2)

Welcome back to Earth to NASA astronaut Sunita Williams of Euclid Ohio.
Your perseverance and dedication to the mission are truly inspirational.
Thank you for making Northeast Ohio and the world proud.
Medger Evers was a champion of the Civil Rights movement, murdered for his activism. Jackie Robinson was a hero who broke barriers on the baseball field. Both served our nation honorably during WWII, but their history of service is being erased. Who does this erasure serve?
Normalizing relations with Russia at the expense of ending military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, rather than holding Putin to account for his war crimes against Ukraine and her people is an affront to Liberty. Putin’s Russia needs to stop bombing and go back within its own borders.
Ukraine never wanted this war, but Putin’s Russia launched the full scale invasion more three years ago. Today's call between President Trump and the Brutal Dictator Putin promised a path toward a potential ceasefire, but instead only showed how uninterested in any real peace Putin truly is.
Yesterday, I visited the Zepf Center's new Youth Crisis Stabilization Unit. Medicaid stability is vital for Zepf services which deliver specialized care for our NW Ohio communities. We cannot allow community health centers to be gutted to pay for more tax cut for Billionaires.
On #NationalAgricultureDay we celebrate those who feed America—our farmers, producers, and growers. In NW Ohio, agriculture is more than a way of life, it’s a foundation of growth and prosperity. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America. Today we honor those who do this work every day.

Congratulations to NW Ohio’s extraordinary young artists. 1st place in our 42nd Annual 9th Congressional District Art Competition went to Caleb Maciejewski, of Sylvania Northview High School. His work 'Outside In' will hang in the US Capitol for the next year—representing our region for all to see!
Wishing everyone a joyful and lucky St. Patrick's Day!
May your day be filled with good cheer, great company, and a little extra luck. Wishing happiness and good health to all!
Recognizing the 35th Anniversary of Toledo’s Sister City relationship with Szeged, Hungary. A special warm welcome to the Glass City at the Hungarian Club of Toledo for Szeged’s Vice Mayor Thomas Kovacs.

🚨BREAKING: With @raskin.house.gov & @scanlon.house.gov, I’m leading 100+ House Democrats in demanding answers on Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest.
Trump’s attempt to deport Khalil is authoritarian & an attack on the First Amendment. We won’t sit quietly as his administration tries to dismantle free speech.
Today, I released the following statement upon Senate passage of the Continuing Appropriations Act. This legislation funds government operations through September 30, 2025 while making deep cuts to critical programs and projects that are important to people across Northwest Ohio.
Toledo Council President Carrie Hartman, and Council members Nick Komives and George Sarantou visited DC for the National League of Cities Conference. We discussed our ongoing work for a better Toledo region.
It is with heavy heart, that I extend deepest sympathy to the treasured family, staff, and constituents of Congressman Raul Grijalva.
