As a response to the illegal strikes in Venezuela, Congress must force votes and debate every day this month on War Power Resolutions to prevent Trump from invading: Cuba Colombia Greenland Nigeria Panama Iran It is time for Congress to wake up & do our job.
The invasion of Venezuela is a moral test for our nation. Most Americans are not for gunboat diplomacy. We do not believe in using the awesome power of our military to plunder weaker and poorer nations.
Trump's actions flouted the Constitution. They will waste American resources. They violate international law and isolate us from allies like France and Germany.
The silence from many media-hyped 2028 contenders today is shocking. If you cannot oppose this regime change war for oil, you don't have the moral clarity or guts to lead our party or nation.
Trump was elected to make Americans lives better. Now he is intent on running Venezuela for some time. I want a 21st century Marshall Plan for America, not Venezuela.
The times call for a movement of the American people to stand against bloated defense budgets and warmongering. We need statesmen who will heed the advice of Washington and our founders and invest in jobs, healthcare, childcare & education for our people.
They get us entangled in conflicts abroad, while ignoring the lack of good jobs and high costs for Americans at home. What will we say now if Xi Jinping wants to capture Lai of Taiwan or Putin tries to capture Zelensky in Ukraine?
Donald Trump betrayed his MAGA base today launching a war of choice to bring regime change in Venezuela. We keep voting against dumb wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, & Libya. But our Presidents bow to a foreign policy blob committed to militarism.
Thanks @sanders.senate.gov not for just having my back below, but the backs of all working class Americans. I was proud to co-chair your campaign in 2020. Your integrity is the reason you won CA-17 and California decisively!
I also will work on legislation to call for a full independent audit of California's budget. I believe we can and must ask those Americans who have done well to pay more so everyone has healthcare and education. In turn, we must provide an accountable and transparent government.
Today, I am announcing that in 2026 I will be working on a bipartisan basis on Oversight to request hearings on state governments' high risk programs, including California, that have led to illegal payments and eligibility errors.
While calling for higher taxes, FDR also decried the "tax burden caused by inefficient and extravagant local government." I have always been for accountability and taking on corruption. That is what my work with Massie on the Epstein files is all about.
One common concern I have heard from constituents all week who have flooded my inbox is about fraud, waste, and abuse in Sacramento. I hear you.
