These weren't "kids," they were adult Republican staffers & a state senator. And the chats weren't "jokes," they were vile hatred & bigotry.
If Vance refuses to call them out or can't even pretend to condemn this language, then there's a serious leadership problem within the GOP.

To my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues looking for Republicans in the Capitol during the Trump Shutdown... they're here.
You just have to know where to look 😉😉
Glad to see women journalists in India speaking truth to power & standing up for their right to equal participation—rights the Taliban has stripped from Afghan women.
We can't be silent—the US must continue to raise the erasure of Afghan women in any engagement with the Taliban.
As Hispanic Heritage Month ends, my team and I honored the Hispanic labor and music leaders that keep our city vibrant.
Shoutout to @seiu2015.bsky.social and Councilmember Price for hosting such wonderful celebrations!
Some good news: @governor.ca.gov signed a bill to raise wages for the incarcerated firefighters who saved LA this winter.
But this isn't just a CA issue—at least 13 states employ incarcerated firefighters. Let's pass my bill, the FIRE Act, to ensure fair labor standards nationwide!

"We don't trust these fools”: @kamlager-dove.house.gov joins The Weeknight as the government shutdown enters its second week and Washington remains deadlocked with no resolution in sight.
Tune in… and if you happen to be a House Republican, please come back to work.

Trump is placing immigrants in solitary confinement as part of his administration’s campaign of cruelty.
No one should be subjected to this torture. Let’s pass the End Solitary Confinement Act to end this inhumane practice not just in ICE facilities, but all detention centers.

On Indigenous Peoples' Day, we celebrate the enduring strength, culture, and spirit of tribal nations.
We also reaffirm our commitment to uphold tribal sovereignty, protect sacred lands and traditions, and invest in vital programs that sustain Indigenous communities.
My heart is full seeing the 20 living hostages return home to their loved ones after 738 harrowing days in captivity.
It’s critical that the ceasefire holds, the deceased hostages are returned home, and phase 2 talks are completed to lay the groundwork for lasting peace for Israelis & Palestinians.
Proud that my state is recognizing Diwali as a state holiday!
The festival of lights is celebrated by millions here in CA, South Asia, and across the world. I'm glad California will be uplifting the light during these dark times.
Trump and Republicans took away your health care, shut down the government, and left our troops and federal workers without pay.
But Trump found $20 billion to bail out his political ally who also ran his country’s economy into the ground.
I said it on the House floor, I said it to the press, and I’ll say it again: Trump’s 50% tariffs on India are derailing a critical strategic partnership. He must reach a deal and work to repair the damage he caused.
Even Republicans aren't buying what you're selling, Mike.
Democrats and I will gladly vote to pay our troops. Bring the House back so we can get this done.
Donald Trump said it best: this is a political witch hunt (but for real).
Trump is salty that she beat him in court & now he's trying to get revenge. It's not just petty—it's a direct attack on our democracy.
I stand with Letitia James. She will win this fight.

A top Trump Administration official allegedly accepted a $50,000 bribe in exchange for securing government contracts.
Since Pam Bondi and Kash Patel refuse to answer questions, @democrats-judiciary.house.gov Dems are taking matters into our own hands. The people deserve answers.
Trump called Russ Vought the “Grim Reaper.” Now, he’s firing thousands of federal workers who help Americans get the services they need.
Remember: this isn’t about the shutdown—they don’t have to do this.
First they took away your health care, now they’re taking away even more.
