Basketball is more than just a game—it fuels learning, improves health, and unites us.
I had a blast celebrating the ribbon cutting of Crenshaw High's newly refurbished basketball court with our community, local leaders, and It’s Bigger Than Us.
I love games! But I don’t love the games that Trump is playing with people’s health care.
So, I'm quizzing folks on the streets of LA to spread the word about what really happens if Trump gets his way and defunds Planned Parenthood.
I voted no on House Republicans’ one-sided, short-term continuing resolution.
Democrats were crystal clear: we’ll work in good faith to keep the government open—but we won’t rubber-stamp anything that worsens the health care crisis created by Trump and Republicans.
Solitary confinement is torture, period. It shouldn't be used in any jail, prison, or ICE detention center.
@markey.senate.gov and I have a bill to end this practice in the U.S. once and for all. Let's pass the End Solitary Confinement Act.
Trump is weaponizing the federal government against free speech and the free press.
The AP. Stephen Colbert. 60 Minutes. Hundreds of visa-holders detained or deported.
Now Jimmy Kimmel.
It's state-sponsored censorship—and it's straight out of the dictator playbook.
Every month, it seems like I’m denouncing a Republican who has targeted an elected official from a marginalized community. Now, it’s Nancy Mace, for targeting Rep. Omar over something she never said.
I stand with Ilhan & urge Speaker Johnson to tell Republicans enough is enough.
Today's hearing in @democrats-judiciary.house.gov made it clear: Kash Patel is not qualified to lead the FBI.
He isn't just another Trump sycophant—he has compromised the integrity of the nation's top law enforcement agency. We must demand better.
The Director of the FBI doesn’t know who Dylann Roof is?
It’s incredibly shameful and concerning that Kash Patel doesn’t know about one of the most heinous hate crimes against Black Americans in the last decade.
Today, House Foreign Affairs Republicans are trying to ram through a State Department authorization package that further kneecaps American diplomacy after Trump has already gutted it.
I'm joining @houseforeign.bsky.social Democrats in fighting back.
Follow along. 🧵
I will be conducting some real-time oversight of FBI Director Kash Patel in @democrats-judiciary.house.gov today.
Tune in.

“Antagonistic, belligerent, cagey”: Top Democrat @kamlager-dove.house.gov slams Kash Patel
Nory, a @laschools.bsky.social honors student, and her mom Estela were deported by Trump to Guatemala, where they’d fled gang violence. Estela suffered from a chronic illness that went untreated, and she tragically passed away.
This is the reality of Trump's deportations. The cruelty is the point.
Slavery was evil and horrific. Why is Donald Trump so personally offended by that fact?
If he wants to whitewash history, he's going to need a lot more paint—because the Congressional Black Caucus and Black Americans won't forget our shared history. We will keep teaching the truth.
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
The Hispanic community's culture & contributions are part of the heartbeat of our nation—especially in LA.
As Trump continues to terrorize Hispanic communities, I'm more determined than ever to celebrate, uplift, and fight alongside them.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are standing up to Trump: through lawsuits, town halls, and exposing his attacks on Medicare and Social Security.
Get involved. It takes all of us to protect our communities and win this fight.
August flew by as my field team braved the blistering heat to show up for our constituents! ☀️
We joined @chirla-org.bsky.social to listen to families impacted by ICE raids, honored our community health centers for their tireless service, and celebrated Black joy with a day of play.
The Stop Illegal Entry Act is not about border security. It would fail to deter migration while only pouring gasoline on a broken criminal justice system.
It's time for House Republicans to stop scapegoating immigrants and get to work for the American people.
