Congress should pass the STOP Screwworms Act I co-sponsored and the USDA should reinstate the 25% of personnel lost at APHIS. Spread of the screwworm would hurt our ranchers, and increase the cost of beef. We will keep monitoring. Please, let us know if we can help you.
The first U.S. case of New World Screwworm has been confirmed in Texas. New Mexico ranchers are worried.  We need to take this threat seriously NOW and do everything we can to protect our livestock, wildlife, and rural communities.
LGBTQ+ New Mexicans have left their mark on our beautiful and beautifully diverse state. This month we celebrate their lives, creativity, and contributions to American culture as well as those of all LGBTQ+ Americans.
Land grants are a unique part of New Mexico’s herencia and cultura. My bill, the New Mexico Land- Grant-Mercedes Historical or Traditional Use Cooperation and Coordination Act, would help preserve that beautiful way of life for generations.
This week we celebrate 61 years of Head Start and its impact on more than 40 million children, families, and communities.   Early childhood education gives our children a strong foundation. That’s an investment in opportunity, American communities, and our future.
Caja del Rio is a precious place that brings together the diverse histories of New Mexicans. We stand in awe of a landscape marked by time and tradition.  @heinrich.senate.gov and I have introduced a bill to protect the Caja and make it loud and clear that Caja is not for sale.
