Now, this decision practically forces Latinos to carry their passports every day — as if being Latino in this country were a crime.
What does this mean for our communities?
Parents handcuffed in front of their children, street vendors taken to jails like criminals, workers interrogated because their driver’s license is “not enough.”
Today, the Supreme Court opened the door to a world where simply looking Latino, speaking Spanish, or working a humble job is enough for armed agents to detain you, throw you to the ground, and demand “proof” that you are a citizen.
🚨 The Supreme Court just put all Latinos in the United States at risk. The government must protect all its people — not condemn millions of Latinos to live in fear in the country in which they are citizens, some for decades.
