I just visited the food distribution at the Community Resource Center in Encinitas. They are having a huge increase in SNAP recipients who need help. It is immoral, illegal, and inconceivable that the Trump Administration would attempt to use hunger as political leverage.
I said something was happening out there—and last night proved it. Californians stood up for fairness and accountability, Prop 50 passed, and the people elected Democrats across the country. The fight doesn’t stop here, but we should be proud of this. And we’ll keep it up in 2026.
Wonderful turnout at our house party in San Clemente today. Constituents — including Dems, Independents, and even a few Republicans — shared their concerns about the Trump Admin. Something is happening out there.

Now we look ahead. One year from now, we will choose the next House of Representatives. We have momentum, and we have work to do. Let’s take this energy forward. Failure is not an option.
I wish we hadn’t needed Prop 50. But when one state draws maps designed to silence millions of voters, the consequences affect representation in every state. We stood up because the health of our democracy depended on it.
Thank you to Governor Newsom, our California Democratic Congressional Delegation, and our partners across the state for staying united and focused.
Thank you to the California Democratic Party, San Diego County Democratic Party and Democratic Party of Orange County for helping our volunteers contact tens of thousands of voters in our communities. @cademocrats.bsky.social @dpoc.bsky.social @sandiegodems.bsky.social
You don’t cut costs for families by killing clean energy. You only sell out the future, and Americans deserve better.
Trump campaigned on lowering costs for everyday Americans—but now health care premiums are spiking, clean energy incentives are gutted, SNAP benefits are in jeopardy, and working families are left holding the bill.
Everyone deserves a break from skyrocketing utility bills. That’s why I’m working with my friend Rep. Sean Casten to introduce the Cheap Energy Agenda—a robust plan to finally bring working families relief from the burden of high energy costs. 🧵👇

Huge congratulations to my friends Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill, two amazing fellow members of the Class of 2018 in the House of Representatives. So proud of both who will be fantastic governors for Virginia and New Jersey! 🇺🇸 @abigailspanberger.com @mikiesherrill.bsky.social

As of today, the shutdown has now tied the longest in U.S. history. While families face soaring health premiums and workers go unpaid, Speaker Mike Johnson says there’s “no point” in doing his job. The weakest Speaker ever. I’m ready to vote NOW to protect health care and reopen government.

Trump’s USDA is threatening to ILLEGALLY and IMMORALLY block food aid that Congress funded, using hunger as a political weapon. While 40 million Americans worry about groceries, he throws a Great Gatsby party at Mar-a-Lago. The cruelty isn’t accidental, it’s the point.

Trump told at least 18 lies in his “60 Minutes” interview, about prices, inflation, the election, and even basic history. We must not continue to normalize his lies. The only antidote to his disinformation is truth, repeated loudly and often. Read the fact check. www.cnn.com/2025/11/03/p...

Today, VOTE YES on Prop 50. Texas’ radical gerrymandering leaves us no real choice. This is about fairness and protecting democracy itself. Take your ballot to a drop box or vote center before 8 PM. Every vote matters today!
