I am deeply saddened by the passing of @repraulgrijalva.bsky.social. He was a dedicated public servant who previously served as Ranking Member of House Committee on Natural Resources: Democrats.

House Democrats stand united for a four-week funding extension that stops harmful cuts, keeps government open, and allows Congress to reach a bipartisan funding agreement.
I am ready to vote today, tomorrow, or Friday to pass a four-week extension.
Trump's gutting of the U.S. Department of Education is a reckless attack on students, families, and educators. It's robbing children of access to a quality education and the opportunity to achieve the American dream. thehill.com/homenews/edu...

Today, @meeks.house.gov delivered remarks on the House floor criticizing Speaker Johnson for preventing a vote on Trump’s tariffs on Mexico and Canada. View full remarks here: democrats-foreignaffairs.house.gov/2025/3/meeks...
I proudly stood with my colleagues at the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama recognizing 60 years since Bloody Sunday. We honored the bravery of the late Congressman John Lewis and the Foot Soldiers who were brutally attacked while peacefully demonstrating for the right to vote.
It is with deep sadness that I acknowledge the passing of @sylvesterturner.bsky.social. Throughout his career, Sylvester led with integrity to make the country and city of Houston a better place. He was a dedicated public servant and his impact on his constituents will not be forgotten.
As we reflect on her advocacy, we are reminded that the work she started is not finished and continues to inspire us to push forward in her honor. My deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, and everyone touched by her remarkable life and contributions.
May God Bless her Soul.
During her life, Hazel stood courageously in the face of adversity, challenging discrimination with unwavering resolve. Her legacy of bravery, compassion, and commitment to a more equal world will never be forgotten.
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the loss of Civil Rights legend Hazel Dukes. She was a towering figure in the fight for justice and equality. Most importantly, a mentor and dear friend to me.

Yesterday I was proud to meet with New Yorkers (some even from NY's 5th!) visiting D.C. in support of Ukraine. This is a critical and existential moment for Ukrainians and their fight for democracy, and I commend their advocacy for a just and sustainable peace.

My statement on the Trump's Administration's reversal on Funding Cuts to the World Trade Center Health Program:
Republicans are plotting to pass the Trump-House budget which rips off Americans by cutting essential services for seniors & veterans such as Medicaid, food assistance, & more. I will continue fighting to prevent extremists from stealing your taxpayer dollars for their own gain. youtu.be/wHrFmsM07a8
