He was truly one of a kind – strategically brilliant, fearless, and relentless in delivering results for the marginalized and voiceless. California is a better place because of his integrity and courage. My prayers are with John’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. [2/2]
ICE’s blatant disregard for the rule of law and human decency will never be welcome in Sacramento. As a united front we will always make sure they know that, and we will always hold them accountable. [2/2]
I would like to thank Reverend Matthew Woodward, our faith community, Sacramento ACT, @norcalresist.bsky.social, Sacramento FUEL Network, the California Immigration Project, and the many volunteers for standing up for our neighbors. [1/2]

I say this directly to the Trump Administration: ICE can pretend everything is above board, but they cannot hide from the truth. The Sacramento community will not be intimidated. We are organized. And we are watching. We will continue to stand up in defense of our fellow community members. [3/3]
Let me be clear – I trust our community members, activists, family members, and faith leaders who are continuously keeping an eye on ICE’s actions. I do NOT trust the agency that has time and again ignored due process and trampled on our neighbors’ rights. [2/3]
After being illegally denied entry twice in the past two weeks – today, I completed an oversight inspection of the ICE facilities in the John E. Moss Federal Building. The facility was clearly sanitized. [1/3]
Across the country, the cost of epinephrine has skyrocketed, forcing Americans to make impossible decisions or putting life-saving care out of reach. That’s why I joined forces with my friend and colleague @frost.house.gov to reintroduce the EPIPEN Act... [1/3]
Families with children with allergies should feel confident their kids have their life-saving medication on-hand for when they need it most. That's why I'm reintroducing the EPIPEN Act with Rep. Doris Matsui, capping epinephrine medication to $60 for those with insurance.
Listening to the stories of the brave women who suffered Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse was devastating. Their courage demands action and full transparency. The time for justice is NOW. Release the files.
I signed Reps. Massie and Khanna's discharge petition to force a binding vote requiring the release of the Epstein files. The survivors deserve justice. The public deserves transparency. Release the files.
Sacramento is a special place with a tight-knit community fabric. We understand that when we invest in people, when we protect workers’ rights, and when we lift each other up, our entire community thrives. That’s why we will always fight for a union-strong economy where everyone can succeed. [2/2]
Every year, the Sacramento Central Labor Council’s Annual Labor Day Picnic brings us together to celebrate with the workers and families who keep our community moving. Together, we honor what workers have built and stand united to confront the challenges ahead. [1/2]

Happy Labor Day! Our unions are the backbone of Sacramento’s progress. Supporting strong unions, workplace rights and safety, protecting collective bargaining, and making sure working families are healthy is always a focus in everything I do. I will always fight for our unions.
I talked to vendors who had been coming there for years – folks who are working hard everyday to support their families and be an active part of their community. Small businesses fuel our communities – and I will always ensure they get the opportunities they deserve to succeed. [2/2]
For decades, the Galt Flea Market has attracted entrepreneurs from all over the Central Valley. It is a testament to the power of hard work, entrepreneurship, and community coming together to support one another. [1/2]

KVIE is a cornerstone of our community. From trusted journalism to children’s educational programming and cultural content, public broadcasting enriches our lives and connects us to one another. Public broadcasting is under attack, but I know KVIE is in great hands with David. [1/2]
