The US economy lost 92,000 jobs in February.
Workers & small businesses are buckling under Trump’s tariffs, global instability, & economic chaos.
Every month, the cost of living climbs higher.
He promised to lower costs on day one—but life keeps getting harder. When will Americans catch a break?
Even when I’m on Capitol Hill, staying connected with my communities in Queens is always my top priority. I joined Queens Community Board 6 to share updates on our work in DC and in the district. Grateful to all the board members who came out and asked great questions!

Women’s history is American history.
Women’s History Month isn’t just about celebration — it’s about preservation. While this Administration tries to erase women from our national story, I’ll keep fighting to ensure women’s voices — past, present, & future — are heard, honored, & never silenced.
I’ve written to ED urging them to protect our nurses and nursing students from a policy that would harm our healthcare system and education pipeline. (3/3)
The U.S. Dept. of Education is proposing a rule that would no longer recognize nursing as a professional degree—making it harder for students to access loans, become nurses, and advance their career. (2/3)
Nurses are essential to communities across Queens and NY—always on the frontlines caring for our loved ones. Yet, NY is facing a serious nursing shortage. (1/3)
Great afternoon celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse at Council Member Shekar Krishnan’s Lunar New Year celebration in Elmhurst!
@reptedlieu.bsky.social & I led a letter to Secretary Marco Rubio urging the Administration to use all available resources to get stranded Americans home safely.
The Administration is urging Americans in the Middle East to depart immediately when many embassies, airports, and airspaces are already closed.
Where is the evacuation plan?
Wishing a joyful Holi to everyone celebrating in Queens and around the world! May your day be filled with vibrant colors, music, and dancing as we welcome the arrival of spring.
How can you tell Americans to depart immediately with airports and embassies closed and flights cancelled?
The State Department has a basic duty to provide consular services to Americans abroad. There should have been a plan in place. Now, people are stranded.
Tax season is here—but Direct File isn't. The President killed this free filing option, protecting big tax prep companies instead of taxpayers.
I'm cosponsoring a bill to make Direct File the law of the land.
Honored to join TBN24’s Ramadan Iftar & Dinner! I'm proud to represent such a vibrant Bangladeshi American community in Congress & to keep fighting for fair immigration policies—& against the President’s illegal tariffs that are driving up costs for families. Grateful for your friendship & support.
I will always stand with the brave service members who are risking everything to serve our nation and pray that they return home safely.
My heart is with the families and loved ones of the service members who lost their lives this weekend. I am also wishing for a swift and full recovery to those who were injured.

My office is now accepting fiscal year 2027 Community Project Funding requests! State/Local agencies and, in limited cases, non-profit organizations in NY-06 can submit specific funding requests.

I introduced the Ban Harmful Food Dyes Act to ban cancer-causing dyes from our food.
This should be a bipartisan issue, but it looks like the Administration is now trying to make it easier for corporations to deceive consumers.
My Uniform Standards for Federal Law Enforcement Act would put the weight of the law behind the Justice Department's own existing use of force policy. (3/3)
