The American people deserve a federal budget that reflects our values—healthy families, better schools, a fair economy, and a manageable cost of living. In Washington, I'll keep fighting to make this a reality for our community and our country.
I'm proud to support legislation—like my SCREENS for Cancer Act—to spur investment in cancer research, treatment, and prevention—because it provides families like Mary Catherine's the hope they deserve.   I'll keep encouraging my colleagues to do the same.
Today, I return to Washington to continue one of Congress’s most important responsibilities: funding our government. This isn’t just about numbers—it’s about values, priorities, and the future we’re building for families in Rochester and across America. We must get this right.
In a moment of crisis, connecting with an expert who can provide compassionate counseling is crucial. Trained counselors at the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline are there to help. Text or call 9-8-8 for immediate assistance. You are not alone.
Anything that discourages people from participating in our democracy is tragic. We've got to put a stop to political violence and protect American's guaranteed right to speak out.
Grateful to join the #WalkToDefeatALS today with Dr. Joel Shamaskin, a tireless advocate battling this devastating disease. I'm proud to work in Congress alongside my colleagues to combat this disease and improve quality of life for those fighting ALS.
Congratulations to HowMet Aerospace on 70 years of operations in Rochester! Through over half a century of growth, change, and innovation, Howmet has stood the test of time. Proud to celebrate this talented and dedicated team, and I look forward to many more years of success.
Our nation is hurting. Americans deserve public servants who acknowledge that pain and work to heal it. I once believed every elected leader wanted to fix our challenges. Sadly, I no longer believe that.
EARHARDT: We have radicals on the right as well. How do we fix this country? TRUMP: I'll tell you something that's gonna get me in trouble but I couldn't care less. The radicals on the right oftentimes are radical because they don't want to see crime. The radicals on the left are the problem.
The proposed Labor, Health, and Human Services budget bill shortchanges our schools, teachers, and children by slashing funding for low-income students, teacher training, and after-school programs.
If we are serious about public safety, we must invest in the people and tools that keep our neighborhoods secure. Cuts like these don't strengthen safety—they weaken it.
Working families were told tariffs were necessary—meanwhile, insiders are now finding ways to profit off the economic harm Trump’s tariffs are causing. It’s frustrating. And it’s exactly why we need stronger anti-corruption laws to rebuild public trust.
Today we honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11. We remember the courage of first responders, the strength of survivors, and the resilience of a nation forever changed. May we never forget their sacrifice.
We just finished the last appropriation bill to come out of the Appropriations Committee. Republicans are making us less safe and underinvesting in innovation and scientific research. We're going to continue to fight this on the floor.
The reforms in my amendment would strengthen oversight and protect taxpayer dollars. Republicans voted down this amendment. This is like refusing to hire an accountant because you don't want the bad news and don't want to be held to a standard.
My final amendment would increase funding for Inspectors General at the DOJ, NASA, and the NSF. There is so much talk of eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in government these days, yet the Trump administration wants to place Inspectors Generals in a weakened position.
My amendment would protect a program that has successfully dismantled crime in cities across the United States, and protected public safety. The Republican majority voted against the amendment.
