Communities recovering from a disaster shouldn't be at the whim of President Trump's vindictive agenda. Proud to join my colleagues in demanding the Trump Administration reinstate these crucial disaster response staff and programs.
When President Trump fires disaster experts and scientists, dismantles disaster preparedness programs, and denies or delays aid, it puts American lives at risk. I led more than 80 of my colleagues in demanding that he reinstate disaster response staff and programs:
Mail-in voting is used by millions of Americans, including military servicemembers, people with disabilities, families, and Donald Trump himself. This is a blatant attempt to disenfranchise voters & stop them from standing up to Trump's wildly unpopular policies. It has no place in our democracy.
Breaking News: President Trump said he would lead a movement to eliminate mail-in ballots and that he wanted to get rid of voting machines. Trump has long opposed mail-in voting, though Republicans made electoral gains in 2024 by embracing the practice. nyti.ms/3Jk0D6W
Trump’s cuts to health care hurt families. Covered California just announced due to Republicans' cuts, rates are will go up 10.3% next year. For 1.7 million, premiums could spike 66%.  In other states, increases average nearly 20%.    All because Republicans chose to give billionaires tax breaks.
I stand with Governor Newsom in the fight to protect our democracy against Trump's authoritarian presidency. Republicans know their harmful policies are wildly unpopular going into the 2026 election. We must give voters the opportunity to counter this move in Texas & restore some balance of power.
It’s been 90 years since Social Security was enacted & changed America for the better. Today, Republicans are cutting Social Security and making it harder for senior to get the benefits they've earned. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are working to protect and strengthen Social Security.
Trump’s playbook=manufacture a crisis & stoke fear. Violent crime in DC is at a 30 year low & Trump randomly taking over DC’s police dept is an unjust power grab. Where was his tough on crime stance when he refused to call in National Guard on J6, then released violent felons who attacked police?
I joined my colleagues in voicing opposition to the EPA's carbon pollution standards rollback. While climate change continues to harm communities in the Bay Area & across the US, the EPA is pushing Trump's polluters first agenda, threatening our health and raising costs for everyday Americans.
The Trump administration has announced reckless plans to roll back pollution standards for power plants. This would have disastrous impacts on public health and our environment. 85 Representatives called on EPA Administrator Zeldin to let the EPA do its job and keep our air clean 👇

San Mateo County is lucky to have accessible, quality education thanks to the wonderful community colleges here in our district. I met with the San Mateo County Community College District to learn more about the work they’ve been doing and how we can continue to improve local higher education.
Veterans put their lives on the line to fight for our freedom. Instead of helping veterans and their families access the benefits they deserve, Trump is cutting the VA, firing thousands of frontline workers. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are fighting back to honor our promise to veterans.
I STAND WITH PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Proud to have led four of my colleagues in writing to the Trump Administration demanding they comply with a court order. 5 clinics closed after Republicans cut Medicaid funding and harmed health care access for many in my district. www.newsbreak.com/golden-gate-...
Trump’s cuts to early childhood development programs strip away essential resources that set up families for success. I met with local child care advocates to learn about the impact of Head Start. Each handprint on these canvases represents a bright future worth investing in.
Right now, communities across the Bay Area and across our nation are in urgent need of progressive solutions to the rising cost of living, our climate crisis, and health care reforms. I look forward to fighting for policies that lift up our communities and put people first. (🧵2/2)
It’s an honor to join the @usprogressives.bsky.social Congressional Progressive Caucus and stand with leaders who are committed to building a fairer, more inclusive future. The San Francisco Bay Area has long been a center of progressive leadership. (🧵1/2)
𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: The amazing @kevinmullin.house.gov is officially the newest member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus! 🎉 We are thrilled to welcome another strong Bay Area progressive to the fight for a fairer, more inclusive future.
The EPA's recent decision to undermine the scientific basis for addressing climate change is a disturbing display of climate & science denial. Still, I'm working to mitigate the real impacts of climate change we're seeing in the Bay Area & across the U.S. Watch @abc7news.bsky.social:
For 60 years, Medicare and Medicaid have been a lifeline, helping generations of Americans get the health care they need. Now, Republicans are stripping care from seniors, kids, & people with disabilities. Democrats have always fought to protect these programs. We won't stop now.
