LBGTQ+ rights are human rights. It's disturbing to see SCOTUS rolling back protections for trans youth. Healthcare decisions should be left up to an individual & their doctors – not politicians sowing division with fear tactics.
Today in #Skrmetti, SCOTUS allowed Tennessee's cruel ban on necessary care for young trans people to stand—a devastating blow to the most vulnerable in our community. Today is a loss, but we won't stop fighting for full equality. Read our statement at the link in our bio.
CEC Condemns SCOTUS's Failure to Protect Trans Americans' Access to Necessary Healthcare. “The Court’s ruling upholding Tennessee’s cruel and politically-motivated ban on medically-necessary care for young trans people undermines the ability of transgender patients, their families, and doctors to make medical decisions about accessing evidence-based care without politicians’ interference.” Rep. Mark Takano, Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus. Read the full statement at the link in our bio. Sen. @padilla.senate.gov is a member of Congress who has every right to question the Trump Administration’s chaotic & inhumane actions. This Administration has devolved into a wannabe dictatorship & it’s shameful to forcibly remove a Senator from a press conference for simply asking a question.
If this is how this administration responds to a Senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farmworkers, to cooks, and to day laborers throughout California and across the country. We will hold this administration accountable.
For 60+yrs the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has played a pivotal role in keeping Americans healthy & safe. Now, RFK unilaterally fired the entire panel. My democratic colleagues & I are denouncing this reckless move & its underlying consequences. schrier.house.gov/media/press-...
RFK Jr. continues to politicize medicine and wage war on vaccines. He fired 17 medical experts that advise our nation on vaccines so he can stack the panel with a bunch of anti-vaccine wackos. It’s dangerous to Americans, especially kids, and erodes trust in public health institutions.
Americans should not have to choose between putting food on the table or paying their electricity bills. This week, I had the opportunity to speak to DOE Secretary Wright directly and ask him why the Trump Administration wants to cut longstanding programs that help Americans afford utility bills.
It's been 13 years since #DACA was established by President Obama. DACA has transformed lives, communities, & our country for the better. Now more than ever, we must fight for legislative protections for our Dreamers. #HomeIsHere
Gun violence is the leading cause of death for our children and teens in the U.S. This #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth, I'm demanding more than thoughts & prayers from my Republican colleagues to end this epidemic.
Americans are constantly interrupted by robocalls and robotexts that prey on vulnerable populations to carry out dangerous scams. Instead of helping the FTC stop these increasingly sophisticated scams, Trump & Republicans are firing staff and gutting resources. @energycommerce.bsky.social
The Trump-Musk marital dispute would be funny if it weren't just more damning evidence that these two operate from unhinged, bitter political vengeance. This isn't what Americans need from those making decisions that impact our lives! apnews.com/article/trum...
Just like last time, Trump's travel ban will not make our country safer — instead, it will isolate us. It will separate families and shut the door on those fleeing war and poverty. This is fundamentally un-American, discriminatory, and wrong.
President Trump announced restrictions on individuals coming to the United States from more than a dozen countries on Wednesday, broadening a policy from his first term and amplifying the administration’s stringent approach to immigration.
The Trump Administration to learn more about the value behind this massive modernization effort & how CA's project creates thousands of jobs, supports a growing economy & provides environmental benefits. The federal government should be a partner in delivering America’s first high speed rail.🧵3/3
The Trump Administration’s decision to rescind $4 billion that was already allocated to California’s High Speed Rail system is politically motivated and needlessly vengeful. ... 🧵2/3
When the federal government agrees to commit funding for local infrastructure projects, communities across the country need to be able to rely on the federal government to deliver on its promise. ... 🧵1/3 www.sfchronicle.com/politics/art...
