The American people did not ask for this war and oppose a protracted conflict, especially as gas prices skyrocket, increasing by more than 80 cents a gallon in the last month in Richmond. Inflation now sits at a two-year high as consumer prices have increased 3.3% since this time last year.
These escalatory actions have also dramatically reduced our international standing and strained our relationships with our allies.
As a result, we stand to emerge from this crisis less influential than we have ever been in the post-World War II era.
