Everyone should be able to gather, worship, and learn in safety. That’s why I’m leading a bipartisan effort to keep people safe by increasing funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Met with RI nonprofits leaders to discuss the federal program and how they can apply.
Trump's plan for farmers: Step 1: Start a trade war with China, causing American farmers to lose billions Step 2: Bail out Argentina, American farmers' competition Step 3: Try to stop the bleeding he caused with a $12 billion bandaid This is not how you put America first.
Broke ground on affordable homes at the Center City Apartments in East Providence. Thanks to the work of @reed.senate.gov, @whitehouse.senate.gov, state partners, and an all-star line up of nonprofits, this project will help those at risk of homelessness in our community.
If Trump believes there’s nothing wrong, show Americans the video and have a public hearing with Pentagon leadership. As I said on The Hill Sunday, any refusal affirms that they’re illegally bombing boats in the Caribbean.
The health insurance for my constituent from Riverside is jumping from $241 a month to $960 a month next year all because House Republicans refuse to make health care affordable. That will force impossible decisions and major consequences from Trump’s cuts.
After 15 years of House Republicans trying to gut the Affordable Care Act, no more concepts of a plan. We need to act now — and 4 Republicans should join @housedemocrats.bsky.social to force a vote on lowering health care costs.
Rev. Al Sharpton: What is your level of confidence in the Pentagon leadership now? Me: None. We need transparency and answers ASAP. Show the video footage and Hegseth needs to testify publicly before Congress.
Today, we honor the more than 2,000 Americans who paid the ultimate price in the attack on Pearl Harbor, as well as those who answered the call to serve, defending freedom and democracy. We are forever grateful for their bravery and sacrifice.
From baked goods at the ‘Newman’s’ Own Country store to the decked out ‘Newman’ Marcus aisles, the season’s festivities were in full swing at the 30th annual Newman Congressional Church Mission Bazaar in Rumford.🎁
#OTD 160 years ago, the 13th Amendment abolished slavery in the United States. The Trump Administration has tried to erase parts of America’s story by removing Black history from websites, historical sites, and museums. We must learn from the past to continue our progress.
Spoke with leaders of the St. Raymond’s Church Food Pantry in Providence about the challenge of food insecurity in our community. I’m fighting to stop Trump’s SNAP cuts and stop Rhode Islanders from going hungry.
‘Tis the season at the Rumford Towers Annual Christmas Bazaar in East Providence.🎄🎁 Good to see so many friends start the season of giving and loved the smell of fresh baked goods!
Under Trump, 23 people have died in ICE custody and thousands are held in horrifying conditions with reports of little food, overcrowding, and denied medical care. I’m supporting the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act to ensure the basic rights of those in custody.
FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming to New England.⚽️🏟️🎉 Joined Rhode Islanders at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket to watch the draw and find out teams who may play in our region. Looking forward to next June!
Congratulations to AARP RI’s 2025 Andrus Award for Community Service winner, Holly Snyder. Holly's volunteerism demonstrates how a single dedicated advocate can make meaningful change.
Celebrated the transformation of the historic Lincoln Memorial School into 26 new affordable apartments. Thanks to tremendous federal, state & local partnership, the Lonsdale Memorial Lofts will be a beautiful new *old* place to call home.
