Athletes at the Special Olympics Rhode Island Unified Champion Schools Volleyball Tournament truly spiked expectations and set a new bar for perseverance and teamwork!  So proud to cheer on these young Rhode Islanders!🏐
Trump claims costs are down, but since he took office, Rhode Island families are spending an additional $579 a month on their normal purchases.   I’m fighting to reduce costs so that you can afford your everyday lives.
So let me get this right, Trump’s plan was: 1. Tariff everything to help the economy (it didn’t) 2. Claim consumers aren’t paying tariffs (we are) 3. Panic & roll back food tariffs b/c you created an affordability crisis (we told you) Arsonist claiming to be a firefighter.
Since 1975, SWAP Inc. has been revitalizing neighborhoods and providing affordable housing across Rhode Island. Proud to celebrate their work building safe, vibrant neighborhoods for Rhode Islanders of all income levels.
⛑️🦺Put on my hard hat and visited the Ocean State Labs to speak with construction workers getting the space ready for new life sciences labs to move in! Once completed, this facility will spur even more innovation in RI’s public health and biotech sector.
Celebrated the newly renovated Blackstone Valley Community Health Center’s 42 Park Place location, which will expand primary care access in Pawtucket and Central Falls. I'm still fighting to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits & undo cruel cuts that hurt our community health centers.
This Nonprofit Appreciation Month, I’m glad to see so many RI nonprofits and volunteers who step up to support our neighbors! To all the United Way RI HOPE Award honorees, thank you for your service to our communities.
The Republican shutdown was a false choice. Trump and Congressional Republicans CHOSE to shut down the government instead of lowering skyrocketing health care costs. I’ll keep working on Rhode Islanders’ issue number one: affordability.
Thrilled to help kickoff Trinity Rep's new renovation to bring Rhode Island's Tony Award-winning theater into its next century of artistic excellence! Now more than ever, the arts inspire and uplift our communities.
Finally! Congratulations to my newly sworn-in colleague, Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva. After my special election, Speaker Johnson swore me in within a week. This should never have taken almost 50 days. I’m thankful AZ-07 will again have representation in the House.
Happy Birthday to my friend and consummate public servant, @reed.senate.gov!   Thank you for your tireless work to create a better future for all Rhode Islanders. It’s an honor to serve alongside you in our state’s federal delegation.
This dirty funding bill also is Trump corruption at its worst: - a late night, 11th hour deal - the personal enrichment of 8 Senators at $500k each - complicity from Congressional Republicans And all on the backs of a “deal”that continues the theft of health care from Americans. Shame.
Stood shoulder-to-shoulder with my House Democratic colleagues against the Republican health care crisis. We cannot back down. No matter where you get your care, if Trump & Republicans get their way, every American will pay more for worse health care. The fight continues.
Toured CF Children’s Foundation’s pediatric, lab & affordable housing services. More than 80% of their patients are on Medicaid. Trump & House Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law cut roughly $1 trillion from health care. I’m working in Congress to stop the cuts and care for our neighbors.
I’m heading back to Washington to vote NO on a bad deal for the American people that doesn’t address the Republican health care crisis. We will continue to show our power & fight so our fellow Americans aren’t poorer & sicker, and can afford their care.
Closed out the day with state & local leaders at the RI Veterans Home in Bristol to celebrate all those who have bravely served our country. Also listened to a poignant essay on the importance of voting from Mount St. Charles student & 2025 Patriot Pen winner Brooke Perron. 🇺🇸
