Trump’s big, ugly bill will reduce American energy production & jack up electricity bills by as much as 16%.   Trump was lying when he said he wanted “unleash American energy.” See state-by-state impacts 👇
Trump’s reckless trade war is wreaking havoc on Rhode Island manufacturers. I heard first-hand how Trump’s tariff chaos is hurting these small businesses and their valued employees. We have to listen to the engines of our local economies and push back on problematic trade policies.
If Republicans' bill for billionaires becomes law: 🔴🔴⚪️⚪️More than half of nursing homes will have to cut staff 🔴⚪️⚪️⚪️1 in 4 nursing homes will shut down Senate Republicans' are throwing nurses & seniors under the bus & just shot down @reed.senate.gov's amendment to prevent nursing homes from closing.
Democrats want to protect Medicaid, Republicans are voting to cut $1 TRILLION from Medicaid. Experts say the GOP budget puts 579 nursing homes nationwide at risk of closure. My amendment would prevent Medicaid cuts that lead to nursing home closures. Republicans rejected it.
On the final day of #MensMentalHealthAwarenessMonth, grateful for the honest discussion with public leaders led by the City of Pawtucket’s Chachi Carvahlo. It’s important that we look out for one another and prevent anyone from struggling in silence.
With a chance to be on the record in support of the American people, Senate Republicans chose not to keep vets, kids, seniors, and families from going hungry. Whose side are they on?
Happy 50 years of independence to Rhode Island’s vibrant Cape Verdean-American community! Honored to welcome Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva and celebrate the ties between our two nations. 🇨🇻🇺🇸
We already knew the big, ugly bill was bad, but the Congressional Budget Office confirms last minute, backdoor trading has made it even WORSE. Cuts $930 BILLION from Medicaid: Making Americans poorer and sicker. While giving billionaires even more wealth.
I’m working on @houseforeign.bsky.social with many across Congress & beyond to ensure that RI’s Edesia Nutrition continues their work delivering their American worker-produced, lifesaving aid to malnourished kids. Read @BostonGlobe.com’s reporting on it here: www.bostonglobe.com/2025/06/28/n...
Celebrated Barrington and Save the Bay RI’s work combating climate change and supporting resilience at Walker Farm. This ecological restoration will allow Rhode Islanders, both local rowers and local wildlife, to enjoy the saltmarsh for generations to come.
Grateful to attend the 106th American Legion Department of Rhode Island Convention and stand alongside those who’ve served our nation. I will always have the back of our Veterans.
Met with cystic fibrosis advocates from Rhode Island who shared their stories. People with cystic fibrosis across our country rely on Medicaid to get the treatments they need. I’m fighting to stop Trump’s Medicaid cuts that threaten the medical care so many rely on. #StopTheCuts
Too many Rhode Islanders lose their battle with mental health – especially veterans. Discussed with AFSP Rhode Island advocates about what Congress can do to help prevent suicide. If you or a loved one are in crisis, call the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline now. Help is available.
10 years ago this week, the Supreme Court’s historically ruled to legalize same-sex marriage.    While there’s still work ahead, my @equality.house.gov colleagues and I are fighting to ensure full equality under the law for the LGBTQI+ community.
Along with @frost.house.gov and @repdangoldman.bsky.social, I’m leading legislation to block the flow of captured guns back onto our streets and keep people safe.
🚨NEW BILL DROP🚨 Guns confiscated by cops shouldn’t end up back in our communities. But a loophole lets disposal companies destroy one small part and sell the rest as a gun kit.
Instead of saving taxpayers money, Trump’s unlawful dismantling of USAID is literally COSTING Americans over $6 BILLION. He and his henchmen are eroding trust with our allies and abandoning starving children.
