Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July!
Let’s celebrate Independence Day by recommitting to the Work of building a more just, equitable America.
I remain yours in service to every family who calls the #MA7 home, & I will never stop fighting for you.
Republicans have passed a bill that will be a death sentence—denying millions medical care, denying children food, & violently deporting immigrant families to destabilized countries.
This is unforgivable.
Still here, fighting for every family that calls our district home.
It's 1am and Republicans are struggling to pass their Big, Ugly Bill that would harm millions of families.
Their cruelty, chaos, and dysfunction are keeping the American people in limbo.
Democrats are ready to reject this shameful bill and we must keep the pressure up.
Republicans claim to be the party of God, but I can't find a psalm that says "Thou shalt make people poorer, hungrier, and sicker.”
And that's exactly what their Big, Ugly Bill would do.
We'll continue to resist, obstruct, and use every tool to stop it in its tracks.
I rose on the House floor to try to prevent Republicans from destroying Medicaid and SNAP in Trump's Big, Ugly Bill.
They won't even consider it. The cruelty is the point.
— $1,400 average increase in premiums for people covered by the ACA in #MA7
— $290 yearly increase in energy bills
Republicans need to do right by their constituents and reject this shameful bill.
How would Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill harm Massachusetts families?
—Over 320,000 would lose health insurance
— At least 103,000 could lose food assistance
— 63,334 students could lose their Pell grants
— 11,000 manufacturing & energy jobs would be cut
🚨Trump and Republicans are attacking Planned Parenthood and other essential providers in their Big, Ugly Bill.
While we fight to stop it, I'm filing an amendment with @degette.house.gov to protect Planned Parenthood & help ensure everyone in America can access the reproductive healthcare they need.
This bill is not an inevitability, and we’ll keep fighting with every tool we have to stop it in its tracks.
Every Senator that voted for Trump's Big Ugly Bill should be ashamed of themselves.
Republicans desperately want billionaires to get more money they don’t need that they're willing to make millions of people poorer, sicker, hungrier, & lack access to reproductive healthcare.
Trump and Republicans are hell-bent on making people in this country poorer, hungrier, sicker, and more vulnerable–all so they can give billionaires more tax breaks.
This Big, Ugly Bill is NOT an inevitability, and we'll keep pushing to stop it in its tracks.
Republicans should stop trying to rush through their Big, Ugly Bill that would make millions poorer, sicker & hungrier.
Instead, they should listen to their constituents.
Folks like Layla, whose family could go bankrupt trying to keep her alive if Medicaid gets gutted.
Under the cover of night, Senate Republicans advanced their Big, Ugly Bill.
The same bill that would rip food & healthcare away from millions, and further restrict abortion access nationwide.
All to pay for more tax breaks for billionaires. Shameful.
Our constituents deserve meaningful policies to tackle gun violence as the public health crisis that it is.
This Gun Violence Awareness Month, I joined @markey.senate.gov in reintroducing legislation to help save lives by promoting MA gun laws as a model for states to adopt nationwide.
This is an act of policy violence that could literally be a death sentence.
We should NOT be deporting anyone to a nation still dealing with a grave humanitarian crisis like Haiti.
I stand with our Haitian neighbors and urge the Trump Administration to reverse course.
Last month Secretary Bessent told me a tariff exemption on essential baby products was under consideration.
No exemption has been announced & the cost of these goods have risen thanks to Trump's chaotic tariffs.
We're demanding action NOW because our families need this relief.
This damning ruling will undermine the courts' ability to rein in Trump's lawlessness and hold him accountable.
Justice Sotomayor said it best: “No right is safe in the new legal regime the Court creates.”

Last week, @whipkclark.bsky.social, @pressley.house.gov & I joined the Greater Boston Food Bank & @mgbresearch.bsky.social to spotlight local solutions fighting hunger while Trump & House Republicans push cruel cuts to SNAP, WIC & Medicaid.
Food is medicine. Stop the cuts. #EndHungerNow.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
