President Trump's racist, xenophobic rant yesterday is a disgrace to the Somali members of our community. I will continue to stand with our Somali neighbors in the Ninth District.
I’m proud to stand with my colleagues and fight for a fair immigration system.

I will continue to support Attorney General Nick Brown and the 20 other states who are prioritizing Continuum of Care funds to provide housing to thousands around the country.
Not only is this unlawful, but it would severely harm Seattle and King County's homelessness response and dangerously cut Housing First support.
By shifting to short-term shelters, these Trump-backed policies would threaten the housing stability of about 170,000 people nationwide and risk up to $120 million annually for Washington state.
