It’s horrifying to see what appears to be antisemitic violence right here in the nation’s capital. While authorities complete a full investigation, we must come together and say “Am Yisrael Chai.”
Reports indicate that 2 Israeli embassy staff were murdered & others were possibly wounded tonight outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in DC in what is being investigated as a terror attack. Praying for the victims, their families & the community as we anxiously wait for more information.
Schneider: Many of the areas they represent have the highest need for support from Medicaid, and many families in those districts rely on SNAP.. But what we’re seeing is Republicans in Congress aren’t representing their districts—they’re kowtowing to Trump.
The GOP agenda in a nutshell: stealing health care and food assistance from hardworking American families so they can line the pockets of billionaires like Elon Musk. No wonder they've been pushing through this budget scheme in the dark of night. www.politico.com/news/2025/05...
Heartbroken at the loss of our dear friend and colleagues, Rep. Gerry Connolly. My deepest condolences to his family, staff, and loved ones. May his memory forever be a blessing.
Rep. Gerry Connolly was a truly beloved member of the New Dem family who fought every day to improve the lives of his constituents and the American people. Statement from New Dem chair @repschneider.bsky.social.

Republicans know their “one big beautiful bill” is really one awful deal for the American people that will take healthcare from 14 million people & add $5 trillion to our nation’s debt. They are working in the dark of night so you won’t see how bad their bill really is. thehill.com/homenews/hou...
Good sign that Israel is resuming aid into Gaza. Efforts to end the war, return all 58 hostages, remove Hamas & begin the process of recovery for the people of Gaza must continue. The ultimate goal remains to build on the Abraham Accords to achieve security & peace www.axios.com/2025/05/14/i...
JUST NOW: I offered an amendment to give families relief as prices rise due to Trump's tariff chaos -- these tariffs are projected to cost families $5,000 this year. WATCH @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social spotlight the harms of Trump's tariff chaos, especially for young families.
