Happy National Nurses Week! Join me in recognizing and thanking the incredible nurses whose compassion and expertise continue to positively impact our communities every day.
My statement regarding escalating violence in Kashmir:

New Dems know that millions of Americans rely on Medicaid and SNAP for life-saving healthcare and food assistance.
Statement from chair @repschneider.bsky.social on Democrats' discharge petition to save these essential programs from Republican cuts.
Happy National Teacher Appreciation Day! Teachers usher in a new generation of minds and encourage growth and curiosity. I hope you take some time today to thank teachers across the nation for helping young minds flourish.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today marks the commemoration of the Mexican army's victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, a testament to the power of resilience and unity.
May is Jewish American Heritage Month, a time when we are reminded of the long, rich history of Jews in our country. As we work to combat an alarming rise in hate and antisemitism, let us uplift Jewish voices and celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of Jewish Americans.
Americans deserve leadership that prioritizes their safety and security over blind loyalty.
There is a war in Ukraine, a genocide in Darfur, and Edan Alexander is still held by Hamas.
The job of the National Security Advisor is more than a full-time job. The same is true for Secretary of State.
The President is not taking our national security seriously.
Trump Day 101: Chaos, Confusion, Corruption AND a Shrinking Economy.
Only 1,287 days left.
Yet another broken promise, this one: End Russia’s war on Ukraine. All Trump’s appeasement has done is encourage Putin in his illegal war of aggression against the people of Ukraine. The world is at its best when America leads with its friends and allies— not when it kowtows to our adversaries.
Another 100 day failure? DOGE. We all want a government that is efficient and effective and should take steps to make that a reality. But Musk has created chaos and destruction through DOGE, damaging Social Security, threatening the security of your private, personal information, and so much more.
Trump promised to end the weaponization of the justice system—but did the opposite. He hijacked its independence, pardoned 1,500+ Jan. 6th criminals, and defies the courts to conglomerate his own power. Since when was the president’s job to build himself up and leave his country behind?
Gerry exemplifies what it means to be a leader in Congress. His work & leadership have always been focused on making a positive difference. I'm proud to serve with him & am inspired by his courage & grace as he continues his fight against cancer & in defense of our democracy.
Learning Resources is a small biz in Vernon Hills that sells toys that help kids learn. Trump's chaotic tariffs are catastrophic for businesses like Learning Resources. Helpful story about the existential challenges small businesses face due to Trump's trade war ->

Hard to beat the joy of helping send off 25 veterans on their Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Among them were heroes who served in Vietnam, the Cold War, the Korean War, and even WWII. We are forever grateful for their service and sacrifice—and we honor them not just today, but every day.
The sentencing of the Highland Park shooter is one more step of healing for our community. The wounds from that terrible day run deep & will never fully heal. I extend my support to all of our neighbors, especially those whose loved ones were stolen, as they continue to heal.
This story should allay any and all doubts about Hegseth’s unsuitability for the high office he holds. Not only should he be immediately fired, he should be under investigation for willfully releasing classified information. Why are Republicans still defending him?
The Trump Admin’s dangerous & cowardly demand that Ukraine surrender to Russia will not bring peace. It will only empower Putin to threaten US allies around the world. Trump, Vance & Rubio are not only surrendering Ukraine’s sovereignty, but our credibility & leadership.
