Didn’t make it to our government shutdown Town Hall on Friday? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
You can watch the livestream here:
Happy World Teacher Day! Today, we honor the incredible educators who nurture young minds and shape their future.
They show up every day for our kids, so we must show up for them. That means fighting for fair pay, safe schools, and the resources every classroom needs to thrive.
This is what democracy looks like! Thank you to everyone who came out to our Town Hall on Friday to ask questions, share concerns, and take part in our democracy.
Thank you to all of our legislators who are on the front lines to protect our communities. We will get through this shutdown—together. 💗
It’s Balloon Fiesta time—and we’re ready for our first Balloon Glow!! If you know you know!!
And, if you don’t, you gotta get down here and see it for yourselves! #BalloonFiesta #NewMexico #NewMexicoTrue
The American people are smart. They know when they’re being lied to.
Republicans canceled votes, shut down the House, locked the doors, and are refusing to negotiate.
We’re ready to work. Let’s do this, GOP—reopen the House!
We’re in the midst of a government shutdown, and millions could lose access to healthcare and see their monthly insurance go THROUGH THE ROOF!
Why? Trump and the GOP want to “maximize pain” and keep the government shut down.
Healthcare is a human right. We need universal healthcare for all! Now.

@repstansbury.bsky.social: GOP “lying in the faces of the American people'” about government shutdown
It’s Day 4 of the shutdown, and yesterday we volunteered at the food bank.
We understand we have to take care of our families and communities in NM, which is why extending food assistance was such a focus in the Special Session that our Legislature just wrapped up. Here’s what we are doing. ⬇️
Just left our Town Hall in Downtown Albuquerque, where we had hundreds join to share their thoughts, questions, and concerns about the shutdown and everything else happening right now.
Grateful to the State Leaders who came out tonight. We are #NewMexicoStrong #NewMexicoTrue 💕
Starting now! We’re also live streaming on YouTube: youtube.com/@repstansbur...
“At least you know exactly who your friends are. They're the ones with matching scars.”
Feels very right for this moment.
We see you, Taylor Swift. #TheLifeofaCongresswoman
NM State House Speaker Javier Martinez and members of the New Mexico Legislature will be joining us at our Town Hall!
RSVP here: forms.office.com/g/hRza1grkPZ
Can't make it in person? We'll be live-streaming on YouTube!
🚨 Some amazing news! 🚨 Our Legislature just gaveled out in a historic Special Session to shore up healthcare, food assistance, and public broadcasting funding in New Mexico! I'm so proud to have made it home in time to see the final bill pass!

Friday marks day 3 of the Republican government shutdown. My friend and colleague @repstansbury.bsky.social and I will be coming to you live on Instagram to discuss what’s next.
Join us on Friday at 3:30PM eastern / 1:30PM mountain and make sure to come with questions for us!
As my mother always told me, listen when people tell you who they are.
Today! My office is holding office hours to answer any of your questions.
“Maximize pain” — that is what the White House literally told the GOP their strategy is. Imagine responding to the fight for human dignity with a strategy for maximizing pain.
History will remember those who stood up, spoke out, and did what was right in this moment for the American people.
As Yom Kippur begins, wishing you a blessed and meaningful time for reflection, peace, renewal, and hope. 🕊️
I’ll be home Friday for a Community Town Hall at 4:00 pm MT at the Albuquerque Convention Center to answer any questions you have.
My team will also be holding office hours tomorrow morning at 11:00 am MT in Sandia Park!
RSVP for the Town Hall here: forms.office.com/g/hRza1grkPZ
While national Republicans have shut down the government, Democrats in NM are leading the way with a Special Session to fix healthcare, food assistance, and to protect our people.
