The GOP announced a DOGE Subcommittee hearing next week attacking public media. It’s clear this attack on NPR & PBS is part of a larger pattern by the Trump Admin and GOP of trying to silence free speech and dissent, while they continue to shield Elon Musk from the most basic public transparency.

This week we’re on the road, criss-crossing the district and meeting with communities from the Easy Mountains to Santa Rosa. Rain, snow, dust storm (!) or shine—we show up! Because that is what it’s all about and we are deeply proud and honored to represent our communities and fight for democracy!
Republican leadership has asked all GOP members to stop holding town halls with their constituents. They know their proposed cuts are not what Americans want, but instead of facing their communities, they’re hiding from them.
Not us though! Join me Friday for a virtual town hall!
We’re on the road today in New Mexico’s 1st Congressional District—and we’re here in Santa Rosa at the Guadalupe County Hospital. These are the dedicated people who make it happen! And, this is why we need to expand rural healthcare, not take it away! #SaveMedicaid
Navajo Code Talkers were instrumental in the United States and our allies winning World War II. Erasing their stories from military websites is a dishonor to their memories, our veterans, and beyond appalling.
Indigenous history is American history and we must remember the heroes who served.
Last year, NM imported ~$2.3B in goods from Mexico and $855 million in goods from Canada.
Food and housing costs are soaring. Trump’s tariffs will only make things more expensive for hard working New Mexicans.
Not to mention, it's throwing us into trade wars with some of our closest allies!
Just added! Join us tomorrow in Tijeras!
Make no mistake—this is a federal land grab—straight out of Project 2025.
As they say…follow the 💰💵
Because—who will *actually* benefit from giving public lands to private developers? 🤔
…I can tell you it’s not the working families they’re trying to take housing programs away from.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! ☘️
NM-01: We are taking our town halls on the road! Join us in Santa Rosa and Carizozzo, and if you can’t make it in person, we’re also holding a virtual town hall via Zoom! Plus, keep an eye on my socials for even more opportunities to meet with me this week!
Join us, we’d love to see you!
Across America—families are struggling. They are asking us to take a stand and fight back.
They didn’t vote for the reckless & lawless firing of thousands of veterans and military personnel—they want lower costs, a roof over their heads, and food on the table.
That is what we are fighting for!
Calling all high school students in NM-01! The 2025 Congressional Art Competition is now live!
Submit your art for the chance to have your work hung in the Capitol in D.C. for a whole year!
The deadline to apply is Friday, April 18. For more info, visit —> stansbury.house.gov/services/art...
This is the fundamental framework of our democracy: we are a government OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE—which means we’ve got to listen to and take the fight TO THE PEOPLE!
We’ve got to do the work on all fronts!
Today, I had a combat veteran who served as an Air Force liaison with the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Reagan Administration stop me after grocery shopping. “This indeed is not normal,” he said.
We must keep speaking up and speaking out.
Officially home, sweet home! It’s been a long week. But, I’m grateful to be home and to have the next week working and traveling the District to hear from all of you.
We’ll be in Santa Rosa, the East Mountains, Carrizozo, and of course here in Albuquerque—so come out and see us!
A fierce advocate and a kind and giving mentor—we will remember him always for the fights he took on, his laughter, and his care for everyone around him. Sending love to his family, the people of Tucson, and the many generations he mentored. Rest in peace dear friend, we will miss you. 💔
We are absolutely devastated at the passing of Chairman Raúl Grijalva. Over his 20+ years in Congress, he championed the rights of our communities, Tribal nations, environmental justice, public lands, and the fight against climate change.
