The fact that we would not gather, collect, and survey people who are hungry tells me that we are silencing the realities of people who are food insecure.
Republicans think that by not measuring food insecurity, we will make the problem better.

Donald Trump and my Republican colleagues failed rural Americans.
Instead of ensuring farmers and families have the tools and resources they need to thrive, they decided to help their billionaire buddies get even richer and dig our nation deeper into debt.
Democrats on the House Agriculture Committee were ready to negotiate on a Farm Bill in good faith. Instead, Republicans locked us out of the process.
The people of Oregon’s Willamette Valley deserve a say in the decisions that impact their livelihood.
President Trump and Congressional Republicans crushed our farmers and families through their reckless tariffs and cruel SNAP cuts.
Now, Republicans’ Farm Bill does little to nothing to make up for the harm they caused.
Instead of bolstering our wildland firefighting workforce through this Farm Bill, Republicans are making their job harder.
On top of illogical mandates, the Trump Admin cut Forest Service workers and greenlit ICE’s detention of firefighters.
Tell me what message that sends to our firefighters.
The people of Oregon’s Sixth District sent me to Congress to represent their needs.
Republicans’ Farm Bill does not meet those needs, nor does it meet the moment.
It should in no way be considered a bipartisan compromise.
❗️So here is the thing: the Farm Bill is NOT a bipartisan bill.
Republicans didn’t share the bill text before it was public, with this message: "This is not a negotiation."
❌ That's not how you write legislation that needs BIPARTISAN support to pass ❌

I was just at Beaverton’s Behavioral Health Court to celebrate securing them $500,000!
These federal dollars will support #Beaverton in hiring clinicians and peer support individuals to ensure that people struggling with their mental health can get the stability, support, and services they need.
I was proud to secure over $1.5 MILLION in federal funding to support our local law enforcement and mental health services right here in #OR06.
Whether it's public safety or fixing our roads and bridges, I am committed to bringing home resources that benefit all of our communities.

While our troops are in harm’s way, the Trump Administration has still not shared its strategy, goals, or exit plan with the American people, including Members of Congress.
