I had the opportunity to talk with folks from Climate Action Campaign Oregon Coalition in DC the other day! We discussed pushing back on the Trump Admin’s dangerous attacks on the environment & clean energy. Even in the face of setbacks, we remain steadfast in building a sustainable future for all.
September 11, 2001, is a day that we will never forget. On the 24th anniversary, we stand in solemn remembrance of the thousands of innocent lives lost and honor the heroism of the first responders who answered the call to danger.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. I know this is deeply personal to so many families, including mine. As Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Mental Health Caucus, I'm committed to finding real solutions to stop this crisis. Know that 24/7, FREE, confidential help is available through the 988 Lifeline.
Tariffs on imported medicines are a prescription for disaster. President Trump is making prescription drugs less available and more expensive. We need real solutions that will make medications affordable across the board.
I had such a good time at Punx in the Park celebrating local music, youth, and community! 🤘 Attendance was higher than ever. It was inspiring to see so many people come together to build spaces where young people can express themselves and access needed resources.
Today is Firearm Suicide Prevention Day. We lose 74 people every day to firearm suicide in America. Storing your guns securely can help save lives. Check out these tips on how to protect yourself and loved ones with safe firearm storage.
Today is International Literacy Day! 📚 When a child learns to read, they gain access to more than just stories. Literacy opens up a lifetime of knowledge and opportunities. I will keep working to deliver the tools that our children need to become lifelong readers and learners.
Over 1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence in their lives. It's disgusting to even suggest that what these women survived is not a real crime. President Trump is making America less safe for our mothers & daughters by rolling back federal funding that is meant to protect them.
Trump said crime in Washington, D.C., would be nonexistent if local authorities stopped counting "a little fight with the wife." Story: www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...
Today is #988Day, a time for us to share that the free, confidential 988 Lifeline is available 24/7 to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. Call, text, or chat 988 to get the support you need. Watch till the end to screenshot additional resources 👇#MentalHealthMonday
I just met with staff at an ICE Field Office in Portland. My visit reinforced what I knew to be true, the Trump Admin is intentionally creating chaos and confusion around immigration enforcement to seize power and push the boundaries of the law. This is how we slip into authoritarianism.
The Trump Administration is repealing the Roadless Rule Act, jeopardizing nearly 60 million acres of pristine forestlands, which will threaten wildlife, increase the risk of fires, & exacerbate climate change. You can submit your comments during the open period until Sept. 19, 2025.
Happy #NationalFoodBankDay! 🍎 I'm committed to ensuring that food banks have the necessary resources to keep their shelves stocked, so no family is left without food on the table. As an Agriculture Committee member, I'll keep fighting for a fair Farm Bill that includes support for our food banks.
Addiction is not the end of the story — new beginnings are possible through treatment and support. This Recovery Month, let’s fight the stigma and fund the care that saves lives. If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, check out these resources ⬇️
