As a former prosecutor, I brought cases in accordance with the rule of law not the whims of the President. Unsurprisingly, Trump’s firing the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of VA undermines the independence of the public servants trying to keep our communities safe.
Krystal is doing everything she can to provide for her kids but rising costs have made this back-to-school season incredibly hard. I’m working to bring down costs and give families like hers the breathing room they deserve.
This Suicide Prevention Month, we honor the veterans we’ve lost and those still fighting silent battles. If you or someone you love needs help, dial 9-8-8 and press 1 to connect with the Veterans Crisis Line. Free, confidential help is available 24/7.
The EPA is considering scrapping the 2009 Endangerment Finding — a critical safeguard against the pollution driving climate change.   I joined colleagues in urging the Trump administration to drop this dangerous plan and put public health over partisan politics.
I will support a budget bill that protects Virginians' healthcare, invests in our public schools, and lowers costs for hardworking families. That is what the American people overwhelmingly want. I hope I get a chance to vote for that — but it certainly wasn’t on the floor today.
Congratulations to my ‘Constituent of the Week’, Edie Brooks, on being named teacher of the year by the Virginia Business Educators Association.       Thank you for your service and devotion to Spotsylvania County Public Schools!
My team visited the U.S. Naval Academy to greet midshipmen and learn more about the proud history of our U.S. service academies. It was an honor to spend time with so many service-minded young men and women. I wish them the very best as they continue their journeys of leadership and service.
Costs keep climbing, and it’s hitting families across Virginia hard. Alesia told my office how difficult this back-to-school season has been just to afford the basics. I’ll keep working to lower costs for hardworking Virginians like her.
As a member of Congress who represents the Chesapeake Bay watershed region, I understand firsthand the importance of preserving this vital national treasure.  That’s why I’m calling for a new bipartisan Chesapeake Bay agreement that works to restore and protect the Bay.
Happy Birthday to the United States Air Force! Today, we celebrate decades years of service and courage in defense of the United States. Thank you to every Airman — past and present — who has taken to the skies to keep our nation safe.
On Constitution Day, we celebrate the framework that protects our rights and freedoms.   But as those very rights face renewed attacks, this day is also a call to action:   🇺🇸 To safeguard our democracy
 🇺🇸 To defend our freedoms
🇺🇸 To stand up for the U.S. Constitution
One of the best parts of this job is meeting the young people who will shape our future — like these students from the Commonwealth Governor’s School. Thank you for bringing your questions and for teaching me how to take a proper selfie. My teen daughter will be so impressed!
I am honored to be recognized by Northern Virginia Magazine as one of the 50 Most Influential People in Northern Virginia. It’s a privilege to be named alongside so many incredible local leaders and neighbors who are driving progress and strengthening our Commonwealth every day.
📱 Today is #NationalAppChallengeDay — and my office is proud to showcase the incredible STEM talent in Virginia’s Seventh District through the Congressional App Challenge! If you’re a student with an innovative app idea, I encourage you to apply on my website before October 30.
Back-to-school season should be exciting — but for too many families, it’s become a source of stress. Costs are soaring under this administration. Renee told me how hard it’s been to make ends meet. I’m fighting to ease the burden on hardworking Virginians like her.
It was an honor to meet with members of the American Cancer Society in my office on Capitol Hill. Their experiences, insights, and unwavering dedication are vital in the fight against cancer. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me and for sharing your voice.
