Trump cut $7.5 billion in SNAP and healthcare investments for Floridians so he can fund ICE cruelty. That's over half a million people who will lose insurance, 33,000 jobs lost, and 9 hospitals closed. I'm fighting to ensure tax dollars make life more affordable, not less.
Great to meet Ashley Laverne Jackson to discuss how Black and Jewish Americans can learn from history to stop hate and protect our rights. As co-chair of the Caucus on Black-Jewish Relations, I truly believe that if our communities stand together, we can overcome these threats.
Trump's tariffs, Iran war, reckless policies and corruption keep driving up costs, by an average of: 🏡$833 more for housing ⛽️$699 extra on gas 🔌$110 for electricity 🍲$310 in grocery costs Trump gets richer, but American families get stuck with the higher bills.
I joined @housedemocrats.bsky.social on the Capitol steps to share how Trump's affordability crisis crushes hardworking families and farmers. While Republicans ignore working Americans, we're fighting to lower the cost of housing, groceries, gas, and health care for everyone.

I led Florida Democrats in demanding answers on the use of cages, an act of torture, as a punishment in the Everglades ICE internment camp. There must be accountability for this atrocious treatment of our Florida neighbors. We can enforce our laws without abandoning human dignity.
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! This next month we'll celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic communities across Broward and our nation. We also honor the generations whose hard work and leadership continue to strengthen our country.
ICE lied to me when I pressed them on their use of these cages during my surprise oversight inspection. I’m glad this internment camp is shut down, but we must hold Trump, DeSantis, and their cronies accountable for stealing from our hurricane fund to torture our neighbors.
Trump's failure in Iran has emboldened the Houthis. Now, Red Sea shipping is at risk while the Strait of Hormuz stays closed. This strategic disaster hurts our economy and empowers Iran's proxies. Americans are paying the price every day. When will Republicans speak up?
Shana Tovah to all those celebrating. Wishing a happy, healthy and sweet new year and a meaningful Rosh Hashanah to the Jewish community in Broward County, Florida and around the world. May the year ahead be filled with peace, joy, and new beginnings.
