Patients want to know that decisions about their health care are being made by doctors, not by Wall Street investors. If we’re going to lower costs and un-rig the health care system, we need to stop the corporate takeover of medicine. I’ve got a bill to get the job done.
DEMOCRATS INTRODUCE BILL TO BAN PRIVATE EQUITY FROM OWNING DOCTORS.

THE STOP CORPORATE TAKEOVERS OF PHYSICIANS ACT MAKES SURE YOUR HEALTH CARE DECISIONS ARE MADE BY DOCTORS — NOT PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS, INSURANCE COMPANIES, OR OTHER FOR-PROFIT CORPORATIONS.
WHO OWNS YOUR DOCTOR?

OVER 80 PERCENT OF DOCTORS IN AMERICA NOW WORK FOR CORPORATIONS. 1 IN 10 DOCTORS IN AMERICA ARE CONTROLLED BY UNITEDHEALTH’S OPTUM — AND IT WANTS TO DIRECTLY EMPLOY MORE.

THE COST OF ALL OF THIS? HIGHER COSTS AND LOWER-QUALITY CARE FOR YOU. MORE PRESSURE AND BURNOUT FOR DOCTORS, FORCING SOME OF THEM TO LEAVE MEDICINE.
HOW DO WE FIX THIS?

PUT DOCTORS BACK IN CHARGE.

THE STOP CORPORATE TAKEOVERS OF PHYSICIANS ACT WOULD:

STOP CORPORATIONS AND PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS FROM CONTROLLING DOCTORS’ PRACTICES THROUGH LEGAL LOOPHOLES.

KEEP MEDICAL DECISIONS IN DOCTORS’ HANDS.

BAN CONTRACT TERMS THAT RESTRICT WHERE DOCTORS CAN WORK AFTER LEAVING A PRACTICE, WHICH TRAP THEM IN PRACTICES THAT THEY WANT TO LEAVE.

HUGE: Elizabeth Warren, AOC, and other members of Congress have introduced a bill to push private equity out of healthcare. The Stop Corporate Takeovers of Physicians Act would make it illegal for private equity, insurance companies, and for-profit corporations to own or control medical practices.
Congress must urgently pass legislation to put guardrails in place before we have a cyberattack, economic crisis, or national security disaster facilitated by AI, and we also need to enforce laws already on the books to hold AI companies accountable. The time to act is yesterday.
Frontier AI models are currently a dangerous technology without the safeguards needed to protect people from serious harm. That's why we should immediately pause the development of advanced AI while lawmakers and regulators put systems in place to keep people safe.
We've already seen that the recent calls by AI industry leaders to ‘pace the frontier’ are insufficient, and their suggestions that we must weaken antitrust protections in order to confront the AI threat are transparently self-serving.
The future of artificial intelligence must be decided by the American people through their democratically elected representatives in government—not by a handful of CEOs and billionaire corporations.
BREAKING: Today, I'm introducing a bill to BAN corporate takeovers of your doctor's office. Doctors should be able to care for their patients without greedy private equity investors getting in the way. Let's get this done.
Private equity executives are admitting their funds will "fall short on promises." But as wealthy investors run for the exits, the Trump Administration is trying to stuff private equity into YOUR 401(k). The system is rigged and Trump is making it worse.
NEWS: Trump's war in Iran has cost taxpayers almost $40 BILLION and drove nearly HALF of inflation. It's a conservative estimate, excluding damage to U.S. bases, destroyed munition supplies, and higher costs like gas and groceries—per the Congressional Budget Office.
WARREN: You and Kennedy are keeping these pharma deals secret. The companies say they are immaterial. You still want the American people to believe they are a great deal? KLOMP: Billions of dollars have been saved in out-of-pocket transactions— WARREN: Then show me the receipts.

Americans are being scammed out of billions of dollars while Trump is using crypto to turn the presidency into a profit generating machine. The Clarity Act’s weak rules & carveouts would supercharge fraud & undermine law enforcement.
Giant corporations poured MORE THAN $50 MILLION into Donald Trump’s Freedom 250 party and other celebrations—many had business before the Trump administration. Was Freedom 250 a slush fund for big companies to bribe Trump? The American people deserve answers.
