Toured the RI Veterans Home in Bristol, an excellent example of how we should care for our Veterans. Instead, Trump is forcing over 30,000 VA employees out of a job, cutting SNAP & Medicaid benefits Veterans and military families depend on, and failing to fund the PACT Act.
Glad to see Edesia Nutrition continue to persevere, despite challenges, in their lifesaving work around the world. I will keep fighting on @houseforeign.bsky.social to make sure Trump’s foreign aid red tape doesn’t stand in the way of Rhode Islanders saving lives.
It's time Congressional Republicans allow a vote on the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to stop extreme, right-wing Republicans from disenfranchising Americans.
The Voting Rights Act was signed into law 60 years ago to protect the right to vote for ALL Americans.   Donald Trump and his allies are trying to rollback this progress.
Joined National Neighborhood Night Out events in Central Falls, Pawtucket & East Providence last night! Wonderful to see these communities come together to strengthen ties and have fun.
Trump's Big, Ugly Law and tariffs are hurting Rhode Islanders.   I toured Ace Endico, a food distributor in Woonsocket today, and learned how unstable tariffs and anticipated SNAP impacts on school lunch funding are hurting their bottom line.
Since 2018, Skills for RI has helped over 3,000 high schoolers prepare for jobs of the future across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.   Thrilled to meet with student interns at Citizens Bank HQ and learn more about the skills they're gaining through the PrepareRI internship program.
But this is one step in the right direction — I’ll keep leading the charge on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee to stop NWS cuts & keep Americans safe from extreme weather.
“DESTROY” stickers should not be affixed to U.S. food aid, it should just be delivered. Kids are starving, America’s global leadership is impaired, Rhode Island jobs are in jeopardy & famine-induced unrest is spreading. It’s long past time to deliver the aid. www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/...
Congratulations to Rhode Island’s newest Eagle Scouts, Andrew Schemera and Kieran Fowler from Troop 44! After their great service projects across our state, I look forward to seeing what Andrew and Kieran do next.
Visited Moore Brothers Company’s new headquarters in Bristol to see their cutting-edge engineering and fabrication.  Oliver and Sam Moore have grown their Rhode Island company into one of the leading composite manufacturers for boats, drones, and planes. ⚓️✈️
30,000 people visit the @riaudubon.bsky.social Nature Center in Bristol every year!   Had a fantastic tour of the nature center and met Oliver, the Society's owl ambassador.   Grateful for their work promoting environmental literacy and connecting Rhode Islanders with nature.
Happy 235th Birthday to U.S. Coast Guard! Thank you to the brave service members safeguarding America’s coasts, ports, and seagoing citizens. Special shout-out to the crew of USCGC Oak, Sycamore, and Ida Lewis, home-ported in Newport, for their service to the Ocean State waters. #SemberParatus
Thank you to the Chad Brown Alumni Association for another great reunion & celebration and for the great work they’re doing to provide mentorship to youth in Providence to improve our community!
