Public service is a public trust. Members of Congress should not profit from their positions or trade on info we may receive as part of our official duties.
That's why I signed a discharge petition to force an up-or-down vote on a stock trading ban and help restore confidence in our government.
My constituents are struggling to keep up with rising costs fueled by this Administration’s tariffs.
Many are spending the holidays worrying about whether they’ll be able to afford health care next year.
These guys are completely out of touch.
Every single House Democrat has signed a discharge petition to force a vote on extending ACA subsidies.
We only need FOUR Republicans to stand up to Speaker Johnson and join us in protecting access to affordable, quality health care for over 20 million Americans.
We need four Republicans to join us to get this bill on the House floor.
Let’s get this done for the American people.
Over 20 million Americans will see their health care costs dramatically increase if Affordable Care Act subsidies are not extended.
I have joined all of my Democratic colleagues in signing a discharge petition to force a vote on extending these subsidies for three years.
Hanukkah reminds us that even in the darkest moments, the power of light endures and prevails.
We stand with the Jewish community and refuse to be intimidated by hate.
Chag Sameach.
As our Jewish neighbors in Sacramento County gather to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah, Janine and I are praying for the families grieving loved ones and for the full recovery of those injured in the terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community in Sydney, Australia.
Our nation has a responsibility to take care of our veterans from the start of their transition to civilian life through the end of their lives.
That's why I'm proud to support @newdems.bsky.social's comprehensive plan to ensure our veterans receive the care and support they deserve.
My colleagues in the Senate are about to vote on legislation to extend these critical subsidies.
I urge them to put the American patient first and support this bill.
You should never have to choose between putting food on your table, covering your rent, and paying your health insurance premium.
But for more than 20 million Americans, that already difficult decision will become even harder if Affordable Care Act subsidies are allowed to expire.
Affordability is not a hoax.
It’s something American families deal with every day from putting food on the table to paying the rent to deciding whether they can afford health insurance.
This is a crisis and Donald Trump is making a joke out of it.
That’s why I introduced legislation with @congressmanraja.bsky.social to require congressional approval before any future sale of advanced AI chips to China.

This is a dangerous move that undermines our technological edge over China.
The president should not be allowed to make unilateral decisions like this behind closed doors and over the objections of our national security experts.
America must stand with our ally Japan in the face of China's escalating campaign of economic & military coercion.
@repgregorymeeks.bsky.social & I are urging President Trump to provide tariff relief for Japan to offset the economic burden imposed by these actions.

call out Beijing's "escalating economic and military coercion" against Japan. And urge Trump to give Tokyo tariff relief to show the U.S. "rejects the normalization of Beijing’s coercive trade tactics" bera.house.gov/sites/evo-su...
Today, we remember and honor the 2,403 servicemembers and civilians who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Our nation will forever be grateful to the World War II veterans who answered the call to defend our nation and our freedoms in the aftermath of this tragedy.

Once the gold standard on vaccine guidance, this decision by RFK Jr.'s hand-picked vaccine panel to stop recommending the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine will lead to more disease, more cancer, more preventable deaths, and will further increase the cost of health care in our nation.
