Washington has a corruption problem — and it’s hurting working people.
Congress needs to act to advance an anti-corruption agenda that puts power back in the hands of the people. 🧵⬇️

Veterans should be able to trust that their personal data will be kept safe when they go to VA to receive health care or access their benefits. My Veteran DATA Act would set up guardrails to prevent third-party vendors that work with VA from selling or misusing vets information.
The Postmaster General’s new policy that letters will no longer be postmarked on the day they are mailed is a disaster. For my constituents, a delayed postmark could mean late fees on bills, utilities getting shut off, or mail-in ballots not being accepted. Postmaster Steiner must reverse it.
If the system feels rigged, that’s because it is.
I’m backing an Anti-Corruption Agenda to crack down on insider trading, dark money, and self-dealing in Washington. Let’s fix this.
Going forward, we must continue working to ensure greater accountability so that the people of Springfield and everyone in Illinois can have confidence that those sworn to protect them will be held to the highest standards of accountability.
Sonya Massey’s murder was an appalling and senseless act of violence — one that strikes at the very core of our humanity. While no sentence can undo the harm or fully account for the devastation her family endured, I hope today's sentencing brings her loved ones some measure of peace.
I was one of the first to sign onto articles of impeachment against Secretary Kristi Noem. Alex Pretti and Renee Good’s horrific deaths are the direct result of her dangerous policies and reckless leadership of DHS. She has to go before someone else is killed.
Bottenfield Elementary’s “Every Student Every Day” program is seriously impressive. I enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about how this initiative is helping to improve attendance and setting students up for success!
Since the Citizens United decision, money has flooded our politics at the expense of our democracy.
Today, I sat down with @endcitizensunited.bsky.social President Tiffany Muller to talk about how we put power back where it belongs: with the people.
I'm LIVE with the President of End Citizens United to discuss reforms we need to put in place NOW to combat dark money in politics, crack down on corruption, and strengthen our democracy.

I’m thrilled to announce $1.1 MILLION in federal funding for Glen Carbon to build a new water treatment facility! I was proud to secure these resources that will both benefit the local economy and ensure the residents of Glen Carbon have access to safe, clean drinking water.
Corruption is rampant in Washington – and that has to change.
Today, I’m unveiling an Anti-Corruption Agenda, demanding action in Congress to end Citizens United, ban insider trading and hold SCOTUS accountable. Here’s the plan.
Today, we honor the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust and the millions of other victims of Nazi persecution. We can never forget this history as we continue to fight antisemitism and hatred in all forms. #InternationalHolocaustRemembranceDay
I will be working closely with Alton Steel leadership, the USW, and our local community to stand with the hardworking men and women of this mill—making sure they have the resources, support, and certainty they deserve.
We will not leave these folks behind.
I was honored to sign my name on the beam that will be placed in the brand-new Springfield-Sangamon County Transportation Hub! This project will make it easier to access the transit services that keep us connected and I’m proud to have helped secure the federal funding to make it possible.
Families should never have to choose between paying for a doctor’s visit or covering their rent – but the cost of care is simply way too high. I’m proud to introduce a bill with @repkimschrier.bsky.social to slash out-of-pocket expenses and ensure Americans can access the care they need.
I’m excited to launch our 4th annual “Valentines for Heroes” campaign! You can join me by making Valentine’s Day cards to show your appreciation for our local veterans and active-duty military! Drop them off or mail them to my district offices by February 10th. 💕
💸 I’m excited to announce $6.6 million more in federal funding heading to #IL13! This brings our grand total to over $34 million in community project funding this year! Learn more:
Under existing law, there’s a loophole where surviving families are denied the VA burial allowance if their loved one chooses to spend their final days in the comfort of their own home, instead of a VA facility. That’s just wrong. I’m proud to introduce legislation to permanently fix this injustice.
🚨Big win!
The House just passed key reforms to rein in Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), lower prescription drug costs, and protect independent pharmacists. After pushing for these bipartisan measures, I was proud to cast my vote and bring them one step closer to becoming law.
