This proposed Texas Congressional map is illegal and a direct violation of the Voting Rights Act. I will continue to fight for my constituents regardless of boundaries. My full statement here:
It was an honor to join the Texas State Association of Letter Carriers for their 2025 convention. USPS makes sure folks receive paychecks, bills, important prescriptions, and more. After steep DOGE cuts, I’m fighting for the resources postal workers need to do their critical work.
My statement on the horrific forced starvation in Gaza.
What Latino films have shaped your lives and touched your hearts? Share your suggestions and I will nominate films to be inducted in the National Film Registry at the @librarycongress.bsky.social.
Visit castro.house.gov/film to submit your selection by August 6th.
I testified on redistricting before the Texas legislature today and asked that they serve Texans, not Trump.
The Texas legislature is being used by Trump.
He needs to rig the maps to stay in power and avoid investigations into deadly flooding in Central Texas, the Epstein files, the Iran leaks, and more. Communities of color will be hit the hardest.
The Trump Admin is failing its international role in stopping this humanitarian crisis. It is also failing its own citizens by refusing to commit to conduct an independent investigation into the terrorist attack against an American citizen by Israeli settlers.
I have repeatedly joined my colleagues on @houseforeign.bsky.social condemning the brutal attack on October 7 committed by Hamas.
Our government must now condemn Netanyahu’s government and hold them accountable for the horrors they are committing to the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
I reminded the Trump Admin that there is NO justification to turn a blind eye to five- and six-year-old children who are starving to the bone.
Every day in Gaza and the West Bank brings us fresh horrors of starving children, civilians killed by snipers as they seek out food, and entire families wiped out by the IDF.
Today, I asked the Trump Admin about their plan to end this humanitarian crisis.
Secretary Noem needs to answer for the chaos.
I joined my colleagues demanding a hearing on FEMA’s response to the devastating floods to prevent future tragedies. We owe it to every Texan and American. www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston...
Diplomacy is about building trust and showing up. I’m leading a bipartisan push to preserve U.S. leadership and advance our foreign policy priorities. The PARTNER Act will extend diplomatic coordination with international partners. Yesterday, @houseforeign.bsky.social passed it. youtu.be/Z0ahVv_8pTg
Under Trump’s mandate to deport 3,000 people a day, ICE is turning to racial profiling and targeting non-criminals. I’m fighting to protect due process from these attacks in San Antonio and communities across the country. www.sacurrent.com/news/more-th...
Vocabulary word of the day: gerrymandering
And it has no place in our democracy.
ICE is detaining U.S. citizens who have served our country. It’s wrong and un-American. www.cnn.com/2025/07/19/u...
Instead of spearheading recovery efforts, Gov. Abbott and Ken Paxton are focused on redrawing Congressional maps to cling to power.
Fair maps are essential to making sure every Texans' voice counts.
San Antonians, if you have questions about how this may affect you, please call my office.
Folks rely on public media for reliable news and educational programming. Over the years, public television has helped tell stories that are often forgotten or ignored. It has showcased Latino talent and has helped to tell the Latino story.
Thank you to everyone who stood up against these cuts.
Last night, Republicans ripped away $1 billion for public broadcasting, including @npr.org and @pbsnews.org.

But Trump doesn’t care about enriching the lives of everyday Americans. He cares about enriching his billionaire buddies with tax cuts. That’s why Republicans ripped away $1 billion in funding for public broadcasting—to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
I voted no.
Thanks to Sesame Street, generations of children have embraced their curiosity with Elmo and learned math with The Count.
Thanks to public TV and radio—like KLRN and Texas Public Radio in my district—millions of Americans can access reliable local news and receive life-savings public safety alerts.
