Texans don't want Trump's tomato tax.
The president promised to lower grocery prices. Instead, his latest trade "deal" is making tomatoes more expensive for hard working families. apnews.com/article/mexi...
📞TOMORROW: Join my Telephone Town Hall July 15 at 7pm CT. I’ll discuss issues facing San Antonio and the nation, including:
-The Big Ugly Law’s impact on healthcare and more
-Gov. Abbott’s undemocratic plan to gerrymander Texas
-Recovery efforts after devastating floods
RSVP at castro.house.gov.
This is a reckless and shortsighted move that will diminish and hurt our standing on the world stage.

Trump is firing 1,300 of our dedicated diplomats at the State Department.
These are committed public servants who represent the United States and advance our nation’s values. Many have received years of training, learned many languages, and have dedicated their lives to public service.
Join me for a Telephone Town Hall on July 15 at 7 pm CT. I’ll discuss the GOP budget, Gov. Abbott’s attempt to strip Texans of their voice by gerrymandering—and ways we’re fighting back. I’ll also provide an update on recovery efforts after devasting floods in Central Texas. RSVP: castro.house.gov.
Early education gives our kids the tools they need for future success. My bill, The Head Start for Our Future Act, would allow college students to work in Head Start and other early education programs through the federal work-study program. castro.house.gov/media-center...
A judge has BLOCKED Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship—a constitutional right. While the fight is not over, this is a positive step in making sure that our values and rights are protected.
Being born in America makes you an American. www.reuters.com/legal/govern...
I joined my colleagues demanding the Homeland Security Committee hold an oversight hearing on FEMA’s response to the devastating floods in Central Texas—especially in light of Secretary Noem waiting 3 days before sending FEMA search and rescue teams.
After devastating flooding began in Central Texas, @SecNoem waited 3 days to approve FEMA search and rescue teams.
During disasters, every second matters. Noem must answer for this delay. www.cnn.com/2025/07/09/p...
I am deeply grateful to the firefighters and first responders who traveled from Mexico to work with American teams to save lives in Central Texas after devastating floods. There have been countless displays of sacrifice and courage amid this tragedy. www.expressnews.com/news/texas/a...

It seems to me that an intruder who purports to be a federal agent but refuses to present a warrant, badge, or identification supporting that contention should be subject to arrest and detention by local law enforcement at the least.
Families have been devastated by catastrophic flooding in Central Texas. The number of people lost continues to grow. We need to do better.
To save lives, leaders at every level must come together to find solutions that prevent future tragedies. My latest statement below.
I am heartbroken to learn that several people have tragically lost their lives in the flash floods that struck Kerr County. I urge everyone to use caution, get to higher ground, and stay safe. www.tpr.org/2025-07-04/k...
Happy Fourth of July, San Antonio! Today we celebrate our country’s independence and freedom.
The Big Ugly Bill will hurt Texas families at every stage of life. It will eliminate SNAP benefits for children, cut financial aid for students, slash support for long-term nursing home care, and so much more. Now the fight begins to undo the damage.
Republicans had the choice to protect their jobs or do the right thing for their constituents. They chose their jobs. All because they’re scared of Donald Trump. It’s shameful.
This is a big, ugly bill that will devastate hard working families in Texas and across the country.
My full statement:
Many Republicans know the Big Ugly Bill will cost people their lives. Some want to vote NO but they’re scared of crossing Donald Trump.
So I let them know exactly what’s at stake and the choice they have to make.
Save your career or save your constituents’ lives. youtube.com/shorts/o4Cct...
Only four Republican NO-votes would tank the spending bill. For the sake of 17 million Americans in jeopardy of losing their healthcare, I hope they find the courage.
The GOP spending bill will make Texans sicker, ripping away healthcare from 1.6 million people.
