President Trump is breaking his promise to release the Epstein files. The American people deserve transparency, not a coverup.
Release the files.
Epstein survivors are speaking out from the Capitol steps as lawmakers push to release more files related to the late convicted sex offender's case https://cnn.it/4ni88dn
Healthcare costs are skyrocketing in Texas. Health insurance companies in the state are raising premiums by 24% on average. The cause? Trump’s massive cuts to healthcare funding. Congress needs to make healthcare more affordable for hard working families. www.expressnews.com/business/art...
On Labor Day and every day, I stand with the workers who make our community strong. As workers face greater challenges, I stand with the men and women fighting for the protections, pay, and dignity they deserve.
It was an honor to celebrate World War II veteran Colonel Bill Barnes on his 105th birthday at VFW Post 8541. Thank you for your lifetime of service to our country and to the San Antonio community.
Abbott just signed the illegal redistricting map into law—to serve Trump, not Texans. Republicans have rigged the system to steal power, not earn it. This isn’t democracy at work, it’s voter suppression—and all Texans will suffer. I’ll do everything in my power to protect our voting rights.
I urge my Republican colleagues to say hell no.
This is wrong—and illegal. Not only is Trump gutting $5 billion in foreign aid that saves lives and advances America’s interests, but he’s doing so using an unlawful “pocket recission” method that undermines Congress’ power of the purse. www.politico.com/news/2025/08...
It’s dangerous and it puts our public health at risk.
We all want our families and communities to be healthy, but the MAHA agenda pushes junk science, like ending vaccine guidance that has saved millions of lives. Now, RFK Jr. fired the CDC director for following evidence-backed science. www.reuters.com/legal/litiga...
Our children deserve so much more. Enough is enough.
I am praying for the students, teachers and families that have endured this horrific tragedy. As a father, my heart breaks for the parents who sent their beautiful children to their first week of school and will never be able to see and hug them again. This is every parent’s worst nightmare.
Trump is abusing his power to punish his political enemies. He’s appointed the most unqualified cabinet in US history while firing career military and intelligence professionals, like the NSA and DIA directors.
Because he doesn't want experts. He wants enablers.
The Trump Admin refuses to defend $350M in funding for Hispanic-Serving Institutions, including 121 in Texas. It’s unjust and will hurt Latino students and millions more who attend these colleges & universities. We will keep fighting to ensure HSIs have the support they need to uplift all students.
The National Guard’s presence in our capital is another sign of creeping fascism. It's not about safety, it's about control. Now, Trump wants to take over more of America’s cities. We must stand against this abuse of power meant to intimidate our communities.
Paxton’s job is to uphold the constitution, which guarantees the separation of church and state—not the Ten Commandments. Our public schools should focus on educating Texas students, not stoking culture wars. www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston...
At Trump's direction, the Texas House has now passed racist and illegal congressional maps that rob all Texans of their voice. Make no mistake, this fight is not over. We will keep giving everything we've got to protect our democracy. My full statement:
Unconstitutional redistricting hurts every Texan. If Trump and Greg Abbott think we’re backing down from protecting voting rights, they have another thing coming. Texans are fighting for their voices to be heard and for our democracy.
Texas has always been fiercely independent. So when Trump messes with Texas, we stand up and fight back. The fight against illegal redistricting is not over—Texans deserve to have their voices heard.
Latino contributions to American culture deserve to be celebrated! Check out my selections on @letterboxd.social: boxd.it/NGnF8
After receiving hundreds of submissions from the public, I’m excited to announce the 30 films I’ve nominated to the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry this year. These films are centered around Latino life or driven by Latino talent such as producers, directors, and actors.
