The Trump administration might say they're just targeting criminals, but that's not true. We need to prepare for them to target the most vulnerable people (incl. seniors). My office will do everything we can to help protect people's rights & will share more information as we have it available. 3/
Second, if you’re approached by people who claim to be immigration enforcement, record everything you can. 2/
There are reports that Trump's immigration raids may target San Antonio. We know from history that mass deportation raids can lead to the arrest, detention, and deportation of even American citizens.
First, know your legal rights (in English and Spanish below). 1/
As this administration begins, I'm focused on great schools, affordable health care & a strong, fair economy that allows people to pursue their dreams.
I'll work with anyone to deliver for San Antonio — but I'll fight back hard against policies that hurt our city & the families who call it home. 3/
The Trump administration is gearing up to destroy birthright citizenship, gut the protections of the Affordable Care Act, and hand control of our government over to oligarchs who abuse and exploit American workers. 2/
President Trump began his second term today. He and the Republican majority are executing policies that would drastically alter American society. 1/

Another cynical move by @WBD meant to preserve their ability to get Trump’s approval for any merger while he’s President.
Many big company CEOs bowing to Trump fear retribution.
They fear he’ll strip away big federal contacts or use the DOJ to block mergers or sales by their corporations. 1/
Scoop: As Donald Trump gets ready to take power, CNN boss Mark Thompson has informed Jim Acosta that he would like to move his show to the graveyard hours.

Please know that the decision to cancel the traditional Inauguration Ceremony was made by President-elect Trump and his Inaugural Committee. 1/
For those who have not picked up their tickets from my office in Washington, we will be mailing your ticket to you at the address you listed as a commemorative souvenir of the 60th Inaugural. Sincerely, Joaquin Castro. 5/
However, our office is not aware of any refunds being offered by the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee for expenses incurred for the Inauguration. My office has begun emailing and calling everyone who received tickets from our district to make sure everyone is aware of the change. 4/
Finally, my staff has gotten calls from folks quite upset that they spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on airfare and hotel nights. They have inquired about refunds. 3/
My office was glad to offer Inauguration tickets to constituents and I’m sorry that the traditional ceremony will no longer occur.
There will be a livestream available for those who have traveled to Washington and still wish to watch from the Capital One Arena. 2/

I’m also honored to be reappointed to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where I will keep working to keep America safe while protecting civil rights and liberties. 2/
I’m honored to be re-elected as Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee's Western Hemisphere Subcommittee.
I look forward to working with the members of the subcommittee to strengthen U.S. leadership in Latin America and the Caribbean. 1/
