First Donald Trump wants to accept a $400 million dollar jet from Qatar that will cost millions to refit, and now Kristi Noem wants to use Coast Guard funds to buy herself a new plane as well.
This is flagrant corruption and a disservice to everyone who serves in the Coast Guard. It must not stand.
Instead of working to lower costs for American families, this Administration seems focused on how they can bill them for luxury jets.
Last night, I voted NO on the Republican's plan to take food away from children, families, veterans, and seniors to give lavish tax breaks to billionaires.
Read my full statement. ⬇️
Republicans have been silent during today's Agriculture Committee markup because they know the truth: their bill will take food away from hungry kids in order to give billionaires more tax breaks.
I just stepped out of our markup to talk about it with Leader Jeffries. ⤵️
Republicans are making it clear: they’re fine with children going hungry—as long as billionaires like Elon Musk get their lavish tax giveaways. It's shameful.
Hear what I had to say in last night’s @houseagdems.bsky.social markup. ⤵️
I know firsthand the importance of investing in public education, and I will keep fighting to make sure Central Coast students have the resources they need to succeed.
Met with the board members from the Ventura Unified School District and the Cayucos Elementary School District to discuss the challenges students face in today's classrooms.
As catastrophic wildfires continue to threaten the Western U.S., I’m proud to have worked on a commonsense solution alongside @repjimcosta.bsky.social, Rep. David Valadao, and Rep. Brian Fitz.
I went to the House floor today to talk about how this bipartisan bill will protect our communities. ⤵️
I'm going to fight alongside my @houseagdems.bsky.social colleagues to make sure no children or families have to go hungry.
Tonight, House Republicans will begin marking up their bill that will take away food assistance from children, seniors, and families — all to fund big tax giveaways to Trump's billionaire donors.
I led a group of 90+ House Democrats in calling on the Israeli government to immediately resume shipments of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Food, water, and medicine is critically needed at this time, and we must act now to protect innocent civilian lives.
During National Nurses Week, we recognize the hardworking nurses and caregivers who work tirelessly every day to help their patients. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to providing lifesaving care. 🩺
House Republicans revealed their “big, beautiful bill” in the dead of night because it rips away health care from more than 8 million Americans — all to give extravagant tax breaks to the ultra-rich. ⬇️
I met with them to talk about the important work they're doing and to hear about the potential impacts to their services if the Republican budget passes.
For over 20 years, Tolosa Children's Dental Center has been providing dental care for the children of low income families in SLO. The federal funding they depend on is now threatened by the cutbacks in the Republican budget plan.
Happy Jewish American Heritage Month! All month long we celebrate the contributions of the Jewish community on our nation’s culture, values, and history.
This Mother's Day, I honor two extraordinary women: my mother, whose love and values continue to guide me to this day, and my amazing wife, whose strength and care nurture our family every day.
Happy Mother’s Day!
I will keep fighting to protect these programs and call on my Republican colleagues to vote NO on this heartless plan.
