Shuji Nakamura was kind enough to give me a tour of his new Blue Laser Fusion laboratory in Goleta. Supporting clean energy is so important to our economic and environmental future.
Social Security and Medicaid are lifelines for seniors, children, and countless others — but Trump and Republicans in Congress are waging an all-out assault on both.
Let’s talk about it. ⤵️
I'm relieved to see Kilmar is alive and thankful for @vanhollen.senate.gov relentless push to make this meeting possible.
We must continue to fight for Kilmar's safe return home.
We cannot give up on the people of Ukraine. To stop now would be a gift to Putin and all of our foreign adversaries. I met with the Coalition for Ukraine and reaffirmed my support for Ukraine in its struggle against the Russian invasion.
🚨 Central Coast High School students: today's the last day to submit your artwork! 🎨

I’m about to board my flight to El Salvador, where I hope to meet with senior government officials to discuss the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
I also hope to see Kilmar and check on his condition — and remind him that we won’t stop fighting until he’s home.
The brave men and women who risked their lives for this country deserve better. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will always fight for them.
Trump claims to care about veterans, yet last week, I heard directly from veterans who were wrongfully laid off by his Administration.
They shared how the Trump Administration's harmful decisions have impacted the VA—slashing critical funding and reducing benefits.
I am so proud of this year's winners of the Congressional App Challenge!
Congratulations to Jiyoo Kim-Jung, Seungyoo Kim-Jung, and Aaron Xie from Dos Pueblos High School. These students won for creating “Moodle,” an app with a built-in drawing feature to help students review flash cards.
The Supreme Court was clear: Kilmar Abrego Garcia must be reunited with his family. If Trump continues to ignore the Court and undermine the rule of law, it’s important for every American – no matter their political affiliation – to take a stand.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @ivey.house.gov discusses how Kilmar Abrego Garcia was illegally deported by the Trump Administration, denied due process and sent to an infamous prison in El Salvador.
The court has ordered him to be returned and this Administration must comply without delay.
Celebrating the 2024 World Series winners, the Los Angeles Dodgers, on Capitol Hill. ⚾️
Thanks to @padilla.senate.gov and @schiff.senate.gov for hosting this event!
The Trump Administration's decision to shut down our state's regional Head Start office is deeply troubling and will harm countless kids across California.
I'm calling on HHS Secretary Kennedy to explain why his agency has made such drastic cuts to this vital program.
Happy 100th birthday to Erika Kahn!
Erika is a Holocaust survivor, educator, artist, and grandmother who has lived an extraordinary life over the last century. It was great to celebrate this milestone with her and the Santa Barbara Jewish Federation.
🧵
The National Association of Waterfront Employers plays a big role in running California's ports.
I spoke with them to hear how we can work together to create jobs and new opportunities for local businesses.
Title X is our nation’s only federal program dedicated to family planning & every year it helps people access critical health care services that they couldn't otherwise afford.
I joined my colleagues in calling on HHS Secretary Kennedy to unfreeze Title X funding & restore these essential services.
