As Aurora's Member of Congress, I am committed to passing commonsense gun violence legislation.

This is wasteful, wrong, and cruel.

Everyday I get to work with some badass women.
Veterans like former Navy helicopter pilot @repsherrill.bsky.social & former Air Force officer @houlahan.house.gov.
Pete Hegseth thinks women like them shouldn't be in combat. He’s wrong.
Women who meet the standards should have the chance to serve.

On this #TrainTake with @crow.house.gov: Trump’s Putin flip-flop is a national security disaster—America’s strength comes from standing with our allies, not bowing to dictators.
This week, I’ve been working in the House Armed Services Committee to consider an important bill—the Pentagon’s budget.
I’m working with Republicans and Democrats to improve the quality of life for our servicemembers, invest in Colorado's economy, and keep America safe.
I served three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
My years in combat taught me that protecting civilians is essential to the mission.
Mishandling classified info puts U.S. troops at risk.
If a private soldier had acted in the same reckless way as the Defense Secretary, they’d be fired.
Where is the accountability, Secretary Hegseth?
Today I'm working in committee as we consider an important bill—the Pentagon’s budget.

Let's break down the NDAA 👇
Trump’s tariffs are driving up inflation & are a tax increase on every American.
My constituents are calling me in tears. They’re scared of Trump’s cuts to Medicaid.
They don’t know where they’ll get their health care. Or how they’ll pay for their medicine.
The Republican cuts are devastating and real.
5/ Similarly, when Trump says he hates Democrats that only furthers division.
Now more than ever we need leaders who will find common ground, not pit us against each other.
4/ We all have friends, neighbors, and coworkers we disagree with, but when you label them as evil, there’s nowhere else to go.
The conversation ends and that only furthers our polarization.
3/ This year, Minnesota Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were assassinated in their home.
State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also attacked.
Political violence is on the rise across all levels of government and impacts us all regardless of party.
2/ One year ago today, President Trump was nearly assassinated in Butler, PA.
I served as the top Democrat on the bipartisan task force to investigate the shooting and will continue to condemn political violence in the strongest possible terms, regardless of party. www.cpr.org/2024/09/18/i...
1/ Political violence is on the rise in America.
In the last decade alone, threats against elected officials have more than doubled.
Some thoughts on this rise in violence.🧵
