I spoke with @cprnews.bsky.social about the Trump administration’s illegal health care cuts—side stepping Congress & putting Coloradoans' health at risk. (1/2)
Big banks are raking in billions off hardworking Americans & Senate Republicans just helped them do it. The CFPB's cap would’ve protected consumers from sky-high overdraft fees, but the GOP chose Wall Street over working families.
Raising costs on those already living paycheck-to-paycheck is cruel.

NEW: E&C Health Leaders Rep. Frank Pallone and @degette.house.gov call on House Republicans and Rep. Brett Guthrie to stop disastrous layoffs at HHS.
With ongoing measles and bird flu outbreaks, these HHS cuts will put more Americans at risk and Republicans know it.
Elon and DOGE are stealing $250 million from Colorado that supports mental health services, substance abuse recovery, and crisis resolution teams.
This is going to have significant consequences for the people of Colorado. That’s why I am fighting to stop DOGE from raiding Colorado.
DOGE’s HHS cuts will harm national biosecurity, stop cures for cancer, & leave Americans unable to access much-needed care. They're firing people who oversee cancer research & outbreak prevention while slashing 20% of the workforce. Sec. Kennedy & DOGE’s illegal attacks on public health must stop.
Over 1 million Coloradoans rely on Medicaid—their sensitive health care information must be protected from the illegal schemes of Elon Musk & DOGE.
My DOGE POUND Act would put an end to the Trump Admin's gross overstep of power & keep them from meddling in Americans’ health care and private data.
This is not about "efficiency.” It's about creating more red tape and bailing out Republicans who want to give billionaires, like Elon Musk, a huge tax cut.
76% of Americans want to keep or expand Medicaid because they know it helps pay for their health care. But Republicans are trying to make accessing essential care harder – even kicking current beneficiaries off their plan.
The level of incompetence shown by the Sec. of Defense & National Security Advisor is staggering. There must be accountability from the top down.
Pete Hegseth & Michael Waltz must resign, & there must be an investigation into whether DNI Director Gabbard & CIA Director Ratcliffe committed perjury.
Someone needs to lose their job over the staggering level of incompetence shown by senior officials of the Trump administration.
Whether it is Secretary Hegseth or National Security Advisor Waltz, there MUST be accountability.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are gutting the Social Security Administration and causing chaos for the 1 in 6 Coloradans who rely on their Social Security benefits to pay the bills.
I am fighting to stop these cuts and protect Social Security.
This report is beyond alarming. There must be accountability for this dangerous breach and incompetence that is putting our national security at risk.
My full statement on Trump’s order to eliminate the Department of Education.
Now negotiations must resume immediately to stop further violence, release all remaining hostages, and ensure that both Israelis and Palestinians can live with lasting freedom and security.
Too many innocent lives have been lost in the Middle East since Hamas’ brutal attack against our ally Israel in October 2023.
The ceasefire agreed to in January paved a path forward to peace.
See my statement with @joeneguse.bsky.social, @crow.house.gov and @pettersen.house.gov on Jeanette Vizguerra ⬇️
🚨 Fantastic news: a federal judge just ordered Trump and Elon to restore USAID’s functionality. The judge said their attack on USAID “likely violated the United States Constitution in multiple ways.”
What Trump, Elon and their DOGE cronies are doing is illegal, and the courts are stopping them.
As the top Democrat on the Health Subcommittee, I am fighting tooth and nail to stop their extreme agenda.
Taking away Americans’ health care is a nonstarter.
House Republicans are selling out their constituents to give tax cuts to billionaires, like Elon Musk.
They passed a budget that will force massive cuts to Medicaid, impacting tens of thousands of Denverites.
