President Trump is out of control & wreaking havoc across the globe- threatening a whole civilization to “die tonight never to be brought back again” if he doesn’t get his way. Congress must immediately reconvene & pass a bipartisan war powers resolution to end his war in Iran.
There is no issue that’s closer to my heart than kids. I am glad to join Friends Center for Children and ConnCORP in the fight for accessible & affordable childcare. Addressing this crisis is a priority for all of us.
This is madness. This war is illegal and now Trump threatens war crimes and the eradication of an entire country if he doesn’t get his way. Congress must assert itself and rein in this president.
UConn MBB gave everything they had this season. Huskies, hold your heads high — you brought Connecticut to the championship game. And you will again. 💜
I am aware of reports that a student at Southern Connecticut State University has been detained by ICE. My office has been in touch with leaders at the University and we are working together to gather more information.
I was thrilled to join First Selectwoman Goldberg, Senator Cabrera, & others to celebrate $344,000 that I secured to support needed improvements for Round Hill Road – a critical roadway for local residents & commuters. This project will increase the overall safety of the road.
Pam Bondi politicized the Department of Justice. While I am glad she is removed from power, we must be clear-eyed about what comes next. My full statement:
I joined Mayor Bob in Prospect for a walk-through City Hall, a drive through Coachlight Circle, which I’ve previously secured funding for to support water infrastructure, & finished the day talking to middle school students. It was an inspiring day talking to constituents.
It is time for the U.S. Congress to send my FAMILY Act to the president’s desk so that all Americans can have access to paid family and medical leave.
Americans are trapped in a cost-of-living crisis. When Democrats gain power, they respond. I applaud my friend & former colleague Governor of Virginia Abigal Spanberger, & the Democratic legislature for enacting a paid family & medical leave program.
Birthright citizenship is clear in the Constitution, and the Trump Administration knows it.   Overturning the 14th Amendment would be against the values of our nation.
After massive recalls, including recently ByHeart infant formula, I have introduced legislation to better protect our babies. My Infant Formula Safety Modernization Act, would modernize oversight of infant formula supply & close gaps in regulatory enforcement to protect kids.
This Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate the vibrancy & diversity of the trans community. We must end the unjust discrimination & hatred that trans people endure. I will always fight for the rights of all Americans, regardless of who they are.
Gas prices have soared above $4 per gallon due to Trump's reckless war with Iran. Americans deserve better than an administration that is inflicting further economic pain on families who are already struggling to make ends meet.
Holy Week is the most sacred week in the Catholic faith. During difficult times, people turn to their faith & attend services as a source of hope. Closing the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to worshippers is unacceptable. I'll be monitoring this closely as Holy Week continues.
Republicans are spending billions on a war with Iran and now they want to cut your family's healthcare to pay for it.
NEW: Republicans are considering reductions in federal health spending to help pay for a budget bill containing as much as $200 billion to fund the Iran war and immigration enforcement.
Congratulations to our beloved UConn Huskies, on another huge March Madness run—grit, heart, and clutch plays all the way to the Elite Eight!🏀
I was thrilled to join the Ukrainian community at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Church for their decorating of pysanky – Ukrainian Easter eggs which I have long admired. Thank you to Gloria for leading us in this beautiful process & keeping Ukrainian culture strong.
