On August 6, 1965, the Voting Rights Act was signed into law, combating racial discrimination in voting, protecting all citizens' right to vote. Democracy relies on equal access to voting, and I will continue to fight to protect voting rights for all!

The Administration could not eliminate Head Start like they wanted, so now, they’re planning on hollowing out the program by mandating they do more with less. When kids fail because of this, they’ll point to that as reason to cut the program. I will fight this.

As I have said, addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza must be the first priority of all parties before any meaningful progress can be made toward peace.

Hamas and the Israeli government must allow humanitarian aid to enter all parts of the territory it controls. The people of Gaza are still in desperate need of food, medicine, and shelter supplies. Israel must also cease its attacks in Gaza that are in violation of the ceasefire.

The Trump administration’s announcement that Hamas would disarm in exchange for an eventual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza is an encouraging step in the peace process. However, more needs to be done for the 20-point plan to move forward - let this be the end of excuses.

The United States has brokered a pathway to a deal between Hamas and the Israeli government for the Palestinian militant group to lay down its arms in Gaza in exchange for an eventual Israeli withdrawal from the territory, U.S. officials said.
